3/9 Cyrano - Dental Day - 100

Cyrano went his for his long overdue dental today. He did great during the whole thing including having three teeth extracted. I just got him home and he ate, is purring and came home with clavamox and bupe for pain. I haven't given him either yet - will in a little bit.

I tested his BG and it is at 100 - I haven't seen a triple digit number in almost two years.

My vet said that he might test in the 100's without relapsing, but if he tested anywhere in the 200's or higher to call her ASAP. I am going to test him a few more times tonight and then in the morning before he eats.

Please, please, please don't let this dental throw us out of remission.

How about you just shake that meter really hard and let one point fall out... there you go, a two digit number - 99.

That was just a little stress from going to the dentist, who wouldn't be stressed out, right?

Ha! I like that idea. I'd forgotten the PetDiabetes Blood Sugar Guidelines, until I saw it linked in another thread here. I'm out of my freaking-out moment now. If he gets up past 130, then I'll get worried.

Still, I like double-digit numbers better. There, I said it.

no need to worry, 100 is fine and it's probably related to pain and/or vet stress. Just keep an eye on the numbers, if he does hit 200's you can post for advice but I doubt you'll have to worry about that. :smile:

I'm glad the dental is done, it's such a relief when they're home safe and sound.
