LL beans! It is I!, Mannie, kitteh barista! For today I proudly offer Mannie's special 10 hr energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Ethiopia, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a Venti quad almond roca infused mocha, with chocolate caramel whip, garnished with caramelized almond clusters, chocolate shavings, a dusting of crystallized caramel and dark chocolate drizzle...... PRIMO! Only the best for all my customers....OH! Tea infusions too, by request. They is primo too! I SWEAR! Today: caramel almond chai!! Psssstttt.... I gots scones and croissants too!

Yesterday was... more or less a repeat of the day before. Lots of pinks, a few reds and even a few yellows. Hooray for yellows. Unless things improve in the next few days I will be taking his dose up some. Things really do need to be lower over all. :roll: ;-) I was unable to connect with the IM vetty. I had to go there to get meds for Mannie, but with my luck of course she wasn't in yet... but I did leave with her email address. I will send her a message sometime today. None of this is earth shattering, just my attempt to understand better how all this interconnects, and make sure that my assumptions are correct. Overall Mannie is hanging in there, but I'm still not convinced he really feels great, and what to do about that... In his book all is well, he continues to do his thing his way when he wants. I so hope that today that will include some blue BG's. We have a nice yellow start today - YAY! :-D In the meantime I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D It really is. I know I've said this before, but it still is true: he does not know illness. To him all is good. He visits his favorite haunts, gets out when he wants, sleeps in his favorite places, eats the fuds he likes, and snuggles the nanners when the mood strikes him. In his book, things are good, really good. So we continue to do what we can to make sure he stays that way. I sat down with him yesterday when he was laying at the top of the stairs. We had a pet session, lots of purrs. I even managed to get a few brushing in, with ours, before the evil eye daggers began to make an appearance, So... back to just the petting then. :lol: :lol: The weather as off and on yesterday, so no surprise really that he spent alot of the day sleeping. I guess at 16 he is entitled. It was a good day for him. :cool: :cool: :cool: Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. :cool: I am happy to say one more time: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone! I am back on DGS duty for the rest of the week. Today will be a swim day for Nicholas. WOO HOO! Back in the pool! Paws crossed on the weather, as I hope we can get some outdoor time too. ..... I hope to visit condos when time permits, it is so tough to do while he is here. I will miss you guys! Think blue, think green kitties! And the drainage work in the yard continues.... I so wish they'd finish..... go contractors!

Hey everybody! What's up! Hoe about....a snow day today? Snowshoeing!!! My bean found this rally cool place her that has the best snow trails, and well taken care of - perfect for a caravan of kitties on snowshoes! There is this place that has picnic tables there too - we could have a snow picnic. I SWEAR I have lots of fleece fore everyone and hats and mittens and scarves and booties! AND - LOTS OF COCOA~ You guys in? let me know - I am ready for anything!~ Mannie

Congrats for the 4P's. Sometimes, despite those ugly purple & yellow, as long as our kitty is happy we should be grateful & felt happy too. I can relate to your worrying about Mannie but Michelle, there are a lot of things beyond our control. Relax & enjoy each day at a time. :YMHUG:
Thankyou for your visitng Rosy's condo. My girl loves hanging out with Mannie in the purple floor these days. Hope they find the ladder down soon. :lol:

Morning Michelle, ~O) ~O) nice starting number for mannie today, and let's see if the dose threat works with Mannie. Good luck on connecting with the Vet. I hope she can shed some light if there is a connection with the meds and his numbers. It's so true they don't know they have an illness and are such troopers. I know when I look at Maggie's values, it would seem she should not be feeling well, but she's feeling good, just as Mannie is, too. I know they do have their off days, too. So neat with the Mannie petting and a little brushing before the eye daggers appeared. :lol: Those were awesome pictures yesterday of your adventures.

Hi Michelle, I hope that you'll be able to get some answers today from the IM doctor and that you'll be able to figure out how the combinations of meds are working. I was so happy to hear that Mannie is taking his meds willingly in the baby food. I'm going to try that with Rusty, too (my order of Allerplex is supposed to arrive on Friday, but the bottle the vet ordered came in yesterday, so I'll pick it up tomorrow).

I agree too: we worry, but some of this is beyond out control, so we enjoy what each day lays out for us. That alone makes Mannie happy. Mannie likes hanging out with Rosy too. Perhaps thy can both together find the lower floors. Right guys?

I did write the IM vet this morning, and look forward to her opinion on the correlation between the meds, their effect and the BG's. I agree - on their feeling good. Mannie sounds much like Maggie in that regard. LOL on the eye daggers - it made me laugh. So we just brushed, no comb. :lol: :lol: Many thanks on the pics. It was so nice up there.

Hi guys .. a nice yellow start and only a jump to mid pinks .. you can easily bring this back down mannie .. I was just telling my girl's this morning they've got it pretty darn good .. always food in their tummies, blankets and baskets to cuddle in, a climate controlled environment, toys in the basket for playtime .. no worries .. now that is a good life .. sounds like mannie is living the same one! have a great day guys!

Considering what Mannie is capable of, that's really not a bad fuds spike at all!

Nice report...good luck with getting in touch with the IM vetty and with the dosecrease when you decide to move forward with it. Have a great day with DGS!!!

Good luck w/ the IM vetty. I've never heard of an interaction w/ insulin and other drugs and I would think that getting his BG back to better numbers would take a lot of stresses off his little body.

Thanks for the ~O) ~O) ~O) delivery this morning. Sorry, I drank Uncle Johnbean's too. He was up late w/ Tess and is n't up yet! I couldn't let it go to waste! Maybe you can stop by later w/ more! Delish as always!

Hey Mannie,

I've got the wagon locked and loaded with all kinds of goodies for a snow picnic - I've got snowcones and water ices in three flavors - mousie, nippy and tuna, creamsicles and tuna melts! I found this yummy gouda in the bean's fridge and put that in the tuna melts! mmmmmmm it's going to be tasty.

Remember to bring my special sled so we can sled too, maybe we can make those drooler imposters pull it for us! Won't that be cool.

Hi Michelle, I hope Mannie starts feeling better soon. It's a blessing that they don't know what is going on with them, though, and I am glad that Mannie just keeps on trucking like there's nothing out of the ordinary. If they understood that they had a condition... :shock: I can't imagine them being any more neurotic than they already are :lol:

Nicholas and I have just come back from a morning at the Pool. The FISH was back in his element, jumping and diving and floating and playing and sliding, and all those awesome things he can do at the pool. What a great morning. I will post the photos in Mannie's condo tomorrow. Even better: coming home to an almost BLUE kitty.

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Yeah - right you are on those fuds spikes - this one was "conservative". I've seen ones in the realm of 200 points... It was great too to come home to a 200. That is nice! Thanks on the rest. The dose will more than likely go up. next day or two when I can be around more.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) And that is was... back to the yellows, and now to the blues. well, we hope so anyways. only one point away. :-D THX on the IM vetty, It's not so much an interaction with the insulin as it is how these drugs, esp the spinonlactone, interacts with the pancreas adrenals etc that I wonder about, and the production of glucose. I've noticed a marked rise in the BG since he's started on med #2. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws here, one way or another he needs more juice, I only wanted to get him more stable before I increased. The appy is an issue after his main meal, been many a night when the drops start and he will not eat. This is new, as I could alwyas get hum tio eat on a drop, no matter where he started from. anyways.... I know you are right: he's feel a whole helluva lot better with lower BG's. This is more than true. :-D

Hi Barb - Feel better! Healing vines for you! And thanks for taking the time when you don't feel good to check on Mannie. That is very much appreciated. and no... nothing from the vet yet. darn it! It isn't earth shattering that I haven't heard, just a couple of questions... oh well, he does have an appt on Monday for a check-up, I suppose I can drill them then. ;-) ANd no worries on skimming... some of this gets very long.

Hooray for yellow... And oh so close to a blue. With meter variance we could just call it a blue ;-) maybe if we call it blue Mannie will fall in line.

1 point, but you seem to forget there is a 20% variance so in reality Mannie was blue today, your colors and numbers are off is all....where I come from I see blue...how about you

Hi Marje - he was close. well, maybe overnight - we still have time. ;-) And so do I: the 100% Mannie. He does darn well, but, unfortunately, the things that ail him are not easily managed. A few more weeks of letting the meds settle and then hopefully we can work more on the BG side of things.
