"We patronize the animals for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err.

For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they are more finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.

They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other Nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."

Much better

Took Peggy Sue to the vet for blood work She's not looking so good & goes off her food for 24 hrs sometimes. Nearly $300 for blood work & exam!!!
My vet had his own practice for 40 yrs . He used to give me great discounts but recently he sold his practice to a corporation ( everyone is doing that lately) No more discounts!
In 2 weeks I need to get Ravan's blood work done to check his Kidneys. When I was working it wasn't so bad but on social security it's devastating!!

( my 2 son's have been helping me,but they're not too understanding about spending so much money on Animals!)

I really like your quote this morning. Who is it?

I do understand about the vet bills and being hard on a fixed income. I had the same issue with my sister thinking I should just "put Bubba down" , that was her sentiments when he got the eye cancer DX the month after the diabetic DX. And it's been almost 4 years.

Glad he made his way back into the greens last night and looks like you held the dose.
