It's starting to look like .5 u is working well for Jose at this point. I need to buy some more testing strips today. I only have a few left. I did not realize how fast they went!
I will definitely be puhing to get his teeth done ASAP. I haven't tried brushing his teeth I wanted to wait until he had them cleaned first.
The stress and fear rather than actual car sickness makes sense since he doesn't seem to have any issues if he's being pet and comforted the whole time. Out of curiosity what would they be able to give him? I've always been nervous about giving him more meds with him already being on insulin.

BJM said:Most cats are difficult to regulate UNTIL the dental is done. Push hard to get it done. With the dose you are giving, its possible that could get him off insulin.
Do NOT try to brush his teeth if they are painful; you will fight a losing battle and your cat will avoid you for causing pain.
It may not be car sickness, it may be stress and fear. See if your vet might give you something for him to help manage the stress of transport.
