What a morning again o_O
It turned out that we had a raccoon inside the house
The cap of the chimney must have flown away by the gust and somehow, it fell down - so it wasn't the vent thing that fell, it was that animal. I found it hiding in behind the shelf in the kitchen. I chased it in hope it will go out through the opened door, but instead, it went under the old grandfather clock and somehow climbed into it. DH and I had to move the damn clock outside with the thing in it.

Given all these things going on, AND Mikan had to start low - I wasn't sure what would happen so I shot 1.5U in place of 2.25U.

I'm trying to think of this as PFS.

Needless to say, there were more paw prints. Big ones.

Hope this is the end of this sage!

OH my! What a way to start a week! I'm so sorry! Worst I had was a bird in my wood stove when the chimney cap became dislodged....I can't imagine a raccoon! I can only guess what the raccoon and Mikan and Yuz got up to overnight? My cats would have been having a party with that thing! Hope your week settles down and Mikan steadies out in the dark green zone....holy smokes her numbers scare me more than the raccoon in the house!! :bighug::bighug:

Oh my goodness, what a morning! I can't believe a raccoon got in!!!!:eek::eek:

I hope things calm down for you. Eeesh. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

But also - that AMPS! :D:D
I know she's still influenced by the depot, but a 43 on a BCS?
Mikan! You're a busy little girl!

My goodness. I think it's all good - except now we have to put TV and sound bar working together and get more cleaning done.
Not sure what's going on with Mikan but she should be good now at 80 - I need to get to work and come back around +7 to test.
Never boring here!

I tell you, Christine.
I had AN EYE CONTACT - our eyes were locked for, it felt like eternity, but neither of us was happy with what was going on!
Cats were growling some but was mostly indifferent. Or scared? The thing was also very scared and hiding. I'm just so glad that no one got hurt and the thing is outside now!

Interestingly, the feral cats outside used to get along with the raccoons, eat from the same bowls, etc. The only arguments they had were when the momma raccoons would bring the babies to eat. But the big old raccoons always got along. Still, glad the outside dweller is back where he/she belongs!

I know some people feed raccoons outside in their backyard. They are cute in a way, as long as there is a closed window/door between us. ;)
I am too so happy that it is where it should be and all of us can get back to our normal lives!

Holy moly, Kit! Wow. What a few days you’ve had. Wild life coming in and yesterday’s soot all over. That’s just too much. :blackeye:
And I thought I had a crazy few weeks with basement leaks, Furnace failing, painters, painting, plumbers, plumbing…

Let’s just say we need to have much calmer days ahead. This is just a little too much. Between all this insanity and FD how much can one pet parent take?
Cheers to BORING days ahead. And very dark green bg for Miss Mikan.
Big hugs to you all :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Staci.
Yes, BORING days sound good :)
You are also stretched so thin! When one badness happens, why is it that another seems to follow? :stop:
I am up since 2:45am this morning (arrh, is 2:45am a morning?o_O) with this raccoon fiasco and I am so completely beat :blackeye:
It took a long time to get that thing out! well, the poor thing was so scared and decided to just freeze inside the old clock.
Let's hope that our mishaps will end right here, right now!
Sending back :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Wow Kit. this sounds a bit scary. I hope you'll manage to get things sorted and calm.
C'mon, Mikan, surf safely :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hi Shelly,
It WAS scary. That thing was a wild animal and I was most concerned that somehow, one of the kitties get hurt.
It took us over one hour to get it out (and another hour to put things together in the house o_O) but it's all good now for us. Phew.
What a day!
Hope calmer days are ahead!
Enjoy your day, Shelly! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Goodness you have had quite the 2 days in your household!!!:eek::eek: I had one of my cats from long ago, crawl up the fireplace and just as you described, everything she touched turned black, as well as kitty herself. It did take a long time to remove all the soot. You have my deepest empathy! :bighug::bighug::bighug: As for the raccoon appearance, glad you could get him outside without him feeling cornered!:eek::eek: May you have a restful and calm evening and rest of this week! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Ruth!
It really was quite a few days
That soot thing, it is so hard to get rid of!
I ordered some waterless shampoo to see it it works, but I may just have to wait it out.
That raccoon, it was so scared. It was a young one and I'm sure it was all some sort of unfortunate mistake that it ended up in the house. But you see something like that in the house, my mamma instinct kicks in to protect my fur-babies! I was snarling at it :p
Thanks for the kind support! I too hope that things will be much calmer for the rest of the week! :bighug:

Hi Kit, checking in late on Mikan . I just couldn't believe what I was reading about the raccoon. Holy sh*t!
You have been through the ringer the last couple of days.
Thank God your kitties were ok and you got it out of the house.
What an AMPS this morning ,glad she came up for you.
You need a long rest after all of this :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Hi Diane,
It really was a rough morning :blackeye:
I couldn't believe my own eyes!
Thank goodness it wasn't rabid!
The thing was small and so scared- probably still young (and stupid to be falling through the chimney).
Will have to call the chimney people to see what needs to be fixed
Life is a full of surprises! But I think I had enough, for now
Hope you and Tyler are having a nice day! :bighug:
