Max doesn't usually start to trend down until 4 hours if active. This looks like an active cycle. He hasn't eaten much of his daily allotment. Should I feed him a little or his usual amount? I assume I need to check again in an hour?
Feel free to give him something a little higher carb if you want. But give him what he's usually get. He already earned his deduction today so no need for him to go low again. And yes, please test again in an hour.
He ate about 1/4 can with a little Stella and Chewy in top. I just gave him about 1/8 can HC food and he ate it. I will give him some more. He usually eats over a can by now but I was giving smaller amounts at the beginning. He has eaten a lot more freeze dried chicken than usual though since I have tested so much so he isn't as hungry as usual. I just checked and he ate most of it.
Maybe substitute his regular LC for his FD chicken treats for future tests tonight? It would be ideal to get some more carbs in him. FWIW, I've often noticed that all green cycles, or least those starting out green will look different (nadir earlier) than other types of cycles. Hard to say yet with Max if this is what he's going to do.
That would be nice. Maybe I will open up a pouch of Soulistic Triple Harmony. It's higher carb and used to be his favorite. Or would it be better to stick with the higher carb ff that I have been giving him. Good news is he is staying in the room that I am in. He won't get on the sofa any more. Not for months, but at least he isn't under my bed. I haven't had to drag him out for tests yet tonight.
The Soulistic is 19% so pretty high. Maybe go half and half with his regular LC food? My thinking was that maybe part of the drop was because he hadn't had his regular amount of dinner yet. If you test again at 3.5 and see how far he's dropped, that might help the decision.
Are you OK for tonight? Neko just gave me a permission slip for sleep. Use high carb if you need to get him up if you want to sleep. Or if he's surfing you can leave out some food for him to snack on.
He's looking good, nice flat cycle. You can probably test in an hour and go from there. Great work today Elise! Lots of time in pancreas healing numbers.
