Good Morning, LL!

It is perhaps cliche to post a photo of err'ybodys favorite cynical feline bemoaning Monday's arrival, but it's actually very appropriate since Kismet was slightly wheezy last night. He snored/whistled a little bit which he only does when he is asthmatic-y. Poor guy. It's that awful, poisonous Monday air! He didn't have an attack (that I know of, b/c it usually wakes me up if he does) but his AMPS is a bit elevated. He woke me up at 5 am with his snore-wheezing, but I didn't test him because he was so comfy and cuddly, and I was way too tired and cold to move. I am fairly sure he was in the low-mid 100's all night anyway. He seems to be feeling great this morning, though! VERY purry! When I tested him this morning, he lied in my lap purring, and after breffi, came up for cuddles and purrs. He was on a mission to steal my watermelon  but was DENIED! All 5 P's in place. He took an impressive poo after passing some odious gas that would make your nose hairs singe. I wonder what he got into? Nothing unusual in the diet :?

My little minions are turning in a paper and their journals today, so I have my work cut out for me. We are doing a revision workshop in class and the paper is due by midnight tonight, but this means my office hours will be flooded with panic stricken students. I am going to sit up in the office for a few hours after class to grade their journals (where they complete all homework assignments for the unit) so I don't have to lug all of them home with me. I should be home in time for his nadir, but DH will be here for the better part of the afternoon and can keep an eye on him.

More Monday Misery (alliteration ftw!) -- I have a presentation tomorrow in my Keat's class that I have been procrastinating, so I have a busy night ahead of me, too. I probably won't be around much, but I will check in work permitting. I hope everyone has a fabulous day and vines to all puds and beans in need. Sending vines out to Angela, Roni, Lyresa, Michelle, Ann (of Ann and Tess) and their significant others. wings_cat Hoping Racci's little bottom is feeling better, that Mannie the Magnificent Manx has no more leg issues, and that Doug's shoulder is on the mend, too.

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123

Nice blue Kismet! So sorry about the wheezy. I know how that goes. Sounds crazy busy there. Try and get some rest in there as well Courtney!

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123

Hi guys ... booooo !! No watermelon? Loving the numbers for kismet though .. Good luck with the busy day (and night) ahead of you .. hopefully kismet will stay up and keep you company tonight .. have a great day!

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123, +3 102

Hi Melissa, thanks for stopping by and for your kind wishes. I'm at work right now sneaking on to update his +3. It looks like he might take a dip in the lagoon *paws crossed! DH is going to get +5 and +6. Oh, and he will definitely keep me company  Everything is about him, as far as he is concerned, so if I stay up late it must be for his sake ;-)

Hi Peter, LOL @ the watermelon. Poor starved, deprived creature! Thanks for stopping by our condo, I hope you and yours have a lovely day.

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123, +3 102,+5.5 99, +6 75

Kiz took a dive from +5.5 to +6. DH got the 5.5 on his way out the door (99) and I just got home in time for his +6 and 5 minutes and got 75  I wonder if DH stresses him out a little bit? He has a lot of trouble with poking and getting the meter to work, poor guy. But YAY Kizzy Kat! Love these numbers! No more asthma now, m'kay?

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123, +3 102,+5.5 99, +6 75, +9 8

I always forget to get a +9, but I am so glad I did tonight  Loving this cycle from my greenie boy! I've always wondered why the +9 is a coveted reading. I get all the pre-shot numbers, the +3, and of course the +6, but why +9?

As an aside, I'm also noticing that Kismet likes to take big dips at +4. I guess this is when the insulin usually kicks in for him? I probably should have tested him last night to get his +4 :? I bet he did get to the lagoon, but he has been surfing safely as of late. I think 0.25u is a a slightly better dose (vs s.25u) because it consistently keeps him green, but when he starts dipping into the 50s by +3,I get nervous because I am usually not around during the week to test and feed. I do have ALL of the next week off for spring break, though! YAY! We are moving in April, so the whole week will be dedicated to packing up the house. Hope Kis doesn't get freaked out. DH has already packed up most of our books and other small stuff and Kismet is having a blast with the boxes

Re: 3/4 Kismet AMPS 147, +2 123, +3 102,+5.5 99, +6 75, +9 8

Hi Courtney......what a wonderful day for Kismet.
Awww, you think his daddybean stresses him...waddya think it does to the bean?

Checkers said thank you for visiting today :-D

Re: 3/4 Kismet PMPS 103

A nice green start for the PM cycle! Surf Kismet. surf green!
You must be very proud of the boy, having such lovely numbers at that drop of 0.25u! cat_pet_icon

Re: 3/4 Kismet PMPS 103

He's been having much better numbers lately. I sure hope the asthma will settle down.

I love his avatar....such a gorgeous photo of his handsome face.

Re: 3/4 Kismet PMPS 103, +2 101

Hi Courtney and Kismet,
I love that he's interested in watermelon! What a funny guy. You have fun with all those boxes! Does he know what they mean yet? Ang gets very cross when the boxes come out - although she loves to sit a box ordinarily.

I love that photo of him sitting next to the candle on his profile. He looks just like a beautiful statue I used to have!

Re: 3/4 Kismet PMPS 103, +1 101, +2.7 67

Hi Tortie -- very proud indeed! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Michelle -- love those greenie faces ;) Glad you liked the Garfield comic

Hi Marje --- yes! He's looking so much better. A little too good at 2 am, but hey, I guess I can't complain ;-) He seems to do so well as long as he is breathing easy. As soon as he flares up, though, we see yellows and ugh pinks. Thanks for the compliment! I think he is the most handsome guy ever, but I guess we all have our biases ;)

Hi Grace -- thanks for stopping by! He is a funny guy -- he goes cuckoo over melon. Before dx, he would get cantaloupe and honey dew as treats. Right now, he's just enjoying playing in the boxes, but once things start moving he will probably freak. We've moved twice since we've had him (he's only three years old), so there is some familiarity with the process though he doesn't seem to be bothered (yet). I hope it won't be too stressful on him... he gets pretty emotional. Thanks for the compliment on the picture! It's one of my favorites because he is so statuesque.

That's funny. Angie's used stand up on her hind legs like a kangaroo for sultanas! She was crazy for them but I haven't given them to her in years, since I heard they were bad for cats.

Hi Courtney. A nice slide into the Lagoon for Kismet today. I'm glad that his breathing is better this morning.

It sounds like you're going to have a pretty busy day. Hope your students do a good job on their paper and journals for you.

Have a great day and thank you for your visit yesterday.

Lol Grace! I had to look up sultanas... We uhmuricans call those raisins. Sultanas sounds so much more regal. I have read that grapes can be toxic to kitties, so that is something to be aware of.

Frosty, it was a busy day and today is another! I haven't started our condo for today because I am so busy blegh. In between classes on my phone right now. Thanks for stopping by :)
