After starting off the new year with a failed reduction, then a roller coaster of an entire month unregulated, Chip finally seems to be settling into his *bigger* new dose.

Lots of blue bobbling but generally normal numbers presently. nailbite_smile

...You might be better off experimenting with dropping the N, or using it maybe just for the first cycle of a bounce, and going back to increasing the Lev dose more often instead of relying on N. It does look like it's working to bring down individual numbers, but it doesn't look like it's improving things overall. Just my opinion, take it if you want. ;-)
As it turned out, I stuck with the strategy I suspected was working with N. I left the Levemir dose alone. At this point it seems to have paid off. We'll see it this helps with reductions *should* he ever earn another. The plan is to shoot a drop of N when he first rises over 250 and repeating every 6 hours until he remains blue or below.

Hi guys .. Not sure if I've been to chip's condo before so welcome from us! This is definitely a nice way to start the day, you must be grinning seeing this nice  have a great day guys!

Re: 3/4 Chip AMPS 95

I was wondering what happened to you!

Do you think Libby's suggestion would make more sense given that Chuck is better regulated? I tend to think you might have accomplished the same thing if you'd increased the Lev the way Libby suggested if you were increasing every 6 cycles. No matter -- Chuck's numbers are looking very good again.

Re: 3/4 Chip AMPS 95

Who knows? :?:

If it turns out I've found a way to improve regulation with less Levemir that would be big news. If only for Chip.

In spite of how it may look, I (eventually) only used the N to *nudge* the numbers ever so slightly down during a bounce.

Which is essentially (part) of what Libby is suggesting. We'll have to see if it actually helps hold reductions.

He's definitely looking better. So when you use the N, you don't test hourly to see how it's dropping him?

Re: 3/4 Chip AMPS 95 +3 122 +7 123 PMPS 167

Nope I just test +4 or +6, whatever the next test would be. Seems to be enough.

I really just need to see where he is at +6 after the N.

He is drifting blue a little too much these days but I don't think that is directly because of the the N, other than not leaving him yellow or pink.

The benefit to that is he asks for less food when he is surfing blue, and I'm trying to get his weight down a bit.

I hear you on the last part. I'm trying to cut back on Gracies food, too, but days like today don't help.
