+2 [136] tbsp 8% :cool: Higher carbs, lick of karo, OR FRED aka Blondie insisting on using her private kitty litter box and the o dastardly brazen golden boy on her counter top bed or master bedroom bed while she occupies that throne! Maybe he works better than karo to raise that BG [and he is tooo cute for his body.!

Even her ear warming sock, the meter and cotton swab are toys to Fred. DH and I laugh at his brazen antics, BUT Cali does not see any humor in sharing her world with this boy. You can read her mind “If only I, Cali were younger, more mobile, I would eat you for lunch!”

thanks Bhooma. It is definitely a battle of will between these two! Cali still hisses, growls… but unless she gets too close, he is so nonchalant and pretends she loves him. I have to give this recalent [sp] teenager feline a time out when he gets too feisty with Two Socks. Two Socks got a break from Fred all day as he has no safe hiding spaces left undiscovered. They fight and wrestle, but when tummies are full and ‘night night’ time, they curl around each other, groom, and then sleep soundly.
 
@Bandit's Mom, @tiffmaxee Re: meloxicam. I guard my last bottle under prescription like gold. I am still without veterinarian [they are getting more rare and expensive in California as well as other parts of the country]. The veterinarian clinic and last veterinarian I had who diagnosed Cali during COVID lockdown in October, 2020 has also CLOSED permanently. Because the RX is off label for cats in the USA many veterinarian clinics are unfamiliar or unwilling to write prescriptions refills. And certainly unless we find a new veterinarian who has to see Cali [at their own risk] a $20 Walmart prescription will cost minimum $1000 for stressful clinic visit and blood test and prescription EVEN if they will write the script.
I have current RX box from Chewy but they won’t refill again without new prescription. They will contact “my non-existent” vet for the prescription.
Looking for any creative means to continue this positive lifesaving quality of life for Cali. Ideas please
Example: have to have RX for antibiotic for feline, BUT no RX required for antibiotic for fish. Hence my veterinarian supply cabinet includes FISHMOX. Has same ingredients but no RX required.

I am also pursuing Tractor Supply store that has limited Pet VIP veterinarian clinic with wellness center for blood tests. Luck of the draw IF successful in getting RX even with the traumatic visit. Even most veterinarians wish not to see Cali. I think they would prefer to attend an unsedated mountain lion!

If you do manage to get a vet appointment, maybe ask them about Adequan or Solensia shots? They might be more willing to give a script for that rather than Meloxicam?
