Hi All and thank you in advance. New members.
Cleo is 17 and has:
early CKD (but vet says ultrasound of kidneys shows them to look much worse than her numbers??)
Diagnosed Diabetic 1/25/21 (was on Vetsulin; ER vet switched her to Glargine)
Was in ER 2/22-2/24 and was further diagnosed with:
Severe Anemia (received blood transfusion; left ER with 21%)
Pancreatitis or possible pancreatic cancer (aspiration contained no cancer cells but pancreas "looked horrible")
Since diabetes diagnosis, we have not been able to get Cleo's BG under control. It's all over the place. The lowest we've clocked it at with home monitor has been 222.
She's been acting weird today (even weirder than she has been for being so sick)...very lethargic and sitting over by her water bowl which she normally only will do for moments at a time and is sitting now with head hanging down, eyes closed.
Vet says don't give her insulin. She's normally not due until 9:30 pm tonight. I was wondering if I should give her some now.
Prior to this sudden downturn for Cleo prompting the trip to the ER, she was a pretty sprightly 17 cat.
Help please.
