Today a 0.25u for the AMPS.

I understand that a mainstay dose should be done. But under the circumstances as posted in previous condos I am alone at this so I would rather work at ups and downs than a serious set back due to no one being able to monitor Buddy for larger doses.

April my remission kitty threw up a bit ago, maybe hairballs but she rarely does that. Always thinking prelude to CRF or HT. I hope her blood work Friday shows OK. Anyway we gave her a pepcid and dad got a vein hit in the process. Talk about bleeding like a pig. Ouch! I usually wear a long sleeve when giving meds for her but it was one of those pressed for time things and we did not wear one. Eh, pressure bandage and things as usual.

Hi Mike,

I'm guessing she won't take the pepsid in a treat. I make my own pill pocket by taking a soft treat and adding a drop of water. Than I mold around the pill. It works for Sara. She has to take a pill for her thyroid BID. I can't imagine if she wouldn't take it in a treat because she is hard to pill. Hope your wound heals fast. That hurts.

Nice amps for Buddy.

Mike, one thing to maybe consider long-term would be a possible switch to PZI. I know it is still available from a couple compounding pharmacies, and it is an insulin that you dose based on pre-shot numbers rather than nadirs, and its more forgiving for switching doses. Not something I'm saying you should do right away, but when it is time to get insulin again, you may want to discuss it with Buddy's vet. You may find it works better with your scheduling needs.

Looking great today!!

Sometimes I have success with them wrapped in a bit of canned food or treats, sometimes. But as far as pill pockets every one of my cats hates them and will not have anything to do with them. She takes most of it by syringe mixture of FF juice, her rear claws always get me because she braces against me and is not trying to claw or bite. She is declawed (I rescued her that way) so so tends to be a little bitey (she also has only two teeth in her sweet head, she lost her last few due to abscesses. The previous losses are anyones guess- also rescued her that way). She is so forgiving about 10 minutes later most of the time.
