Good Grief, I'm afraid of what next test will be. Last night's +2 was HI!
I thought last night, maybe the kids had given him something without my knowing. They were dipping apple chunks in caramel and rolling in assorted goodies. Checks loooooves caramel. I really didn't believe they did, tho, because either I, or my son, was with them.
Seeing today's numbers, Iwish that had been the answer yesterday, at least it would have cleared his system by now.

No ketone test, as I haven't seen him use the LB yet, altho he's drinking. He appears to be comfortable, and happy.

Be back when I stop shaking. I don't do this gracefully, I'm afraid. nailbite_smile

:shock: oh wow... what is up Checkers? on a good note: the 498 beats the HI. Maybe the kids stressed him out some? I dunno.... At least the +2 isn't a big spike. I hope he is on his way down. Paws crossed. Try not to worry, what goes up will come down. Maybe he went to play with Mannie who is alpha today. darn cats! Bottom line: he is comfortable, and happy. I will send down you go vines for checkers.

Hi Barb. Sure hope Checkers gets his numbers under control for you. I'm sure he will be producing nicer numbers soon.

I've never heard of a cat liking carmel. Wouldn't it stick to the roof of their mouth?

Checkers, come right down from there! Are you trying to do the Bunny Hop for Easter? Eat a little caramel?

Barb, he's sure to come down today. Whatever caused his spike is probably long gone and only the spike remains. Have a fine day. We have early sunshine, but rain is on the way. Hope you get some warm sunshine, too.

Barb, I know it's frustrating to see those high numbers, but numbers are only part of the picture. Checkers is happy & comfortable and that is what is important. Hang in there. He will come back down. Hope you have a Happy Easter.

Checkers, please come down to a lower floor as MomBean is worried. Barb, maybe Checkers just sneaked a lick or something. I'm sure he won't stay up there for long. Sending Checkers come down vines. Does company usually stress him, even though he knows them!

Wish I hadn't rechecked. I didn't believe the first number.

I'm sorry friends, I just don't have the 'gracious' gene in me. I'm too scared to be unselfish, and visit others right now.

Checks isn't active... rather, he's being slow, so I gave bupe, just in case it's pain.
He didn't hang out with the kids yesterday, mostly stayed on the bathroom sink, or bedroom; however I caught Kelsey, the 4 yo, with hairbrush in hand, about to brush him. I told her not to and explained that he has a sore back, and showed her he can't be touched back there.
I don't want to think he was hurt, or fed something bad, but Kelsey is only four and doesn't understand.

He finally peed, but I didn't catch him, only saw that someone did. No ketone test again.
He let me feel his feet, for litter granules. That was scary in itself....he NEVER lets me touch, let alone feel between his toes.
I'm sorry to be a big baby...I'm so scared of not knowing what's wrong with him.

Soon, I'm to go to Susan's for a couple of hours. She's only ten miles. Checks will sleep the bupe off, and if it's pain, hopefully, numbers will come down.

Thank goodness, he seems to feel good. :smile:
I left him for a couple of hours, to have dinner with Susan and hubby, and let him sleep off the bupe, and rest without me hovering.
Susan thinks I was probably stressing him myself, with my worrying.

He just ate and used LB, and is wandering around, not seeming to be hurting. Whew!

Yikes!!! What a scary morning Barb. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: So glad you came back to some more reasonable numbers and Checkers more active. I HATE those ugly reds where they hang around not feeling well.

I'm glad to see Checks is feeling fine tonight. It is totally possible that the stress of all the company and the change in his routine threw him off yesterday and this morning...but yes, it is impossible not to worry about them.

I hope you guys are having a relaxing evening!
