Racci is all screwed up today unfortunately. We had some excitement during shot time and I got distracted and gave a fur shot. Since I couldn't be absolutely sure that she didn't get any, I waited 2 hours for confirmation. Racci will have a new time until I work her back to her normal time and unfortunately a high bg today to start off with instead of the 261 she should have had. I'll have to watch her carefully while also babysitting my 3 yr old grandson. What a relaxing day I have ahead of me! :lol: I just didn't want Racci to go through another few days of bouncing from missing a dose when she has a new dose working so will have to do it this way instead. sigh. It's going to be one of those days.

I hope the rest of you are having a better day. I pulled out one of his Easter toys to keep him busy today & hopefully the neighbor will let her kids out to play so he has some company his age. TTYL

As usual, Celi, you found the perfect picture! lol! He is a little 3 yr old ball of energy and devilish with the poor cats. He tortures his but knows he isn't allowed to be rough with Racci because she's 'sick and old'. :lol: Every once in a while he can't help himself though and tries to play wild with her. She stayed out with us for most of his visit but finally retreated to her closet in the far end for a nap. :smile:

We got lucky tho, the weather was nice and the neighbor's kids were out, so he had a blast and was out in the yard almost the whole day. DH wound up doing most of the babysitting & played soccer with him. I just had to clean up after the tornado and feed everyone basically. I'll go for that kind of babysitting any time. :mrgreen:

You scare me when you go the 2nd shot Melanie. I'm sure you know what you are doing in Racci's specific circumstances but for the benefit of anyone lurking DO NOT COPY THIS. If you give a fur shot do not shoot again you just need to wait it out until it's time for the next shot.

That's true, it could be dangerous if you were not absolutely sure and you should not do it without that knowledge. I would not want anyone to copy what I did unless they were absolutely sure and I never would have done it if I wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying.

I smelled it all over Racci and know how she reacts to a shot & she wasn't doing it. I could tell by the way she was acting under close observation and the way I know she acts when she just gets a shot. I gave it 2 hours to make double sure but when her bg tests confirmed it & was so high for her already, I knew she needed her shot. I also kept Racci with me all day and tested often and she remained high all day like I knew she would because her schedule was screwed up. Racci was in the same room with me for all but about an hour today and in fact, just went into bed where I will be joining her soon. :razz:
