Hi everyone. We started in sunny yellow and slid into blue, which is good. Yesterday was a blue day too...with possible green, I went to bed...thanks for the visits last night, Andrea, Marje, Wendy, and Tricia :-D . Yesterday: Chyna 3/29

Well, so far the adding some beef experiment isn't causing itchies, but I'm wondering if it's causing a BG rise. Or it could be that Chyna isn't feeling well. She seems fine, and is preening/purring/pooping. But for the last few days her appy seems off, and I've had to do quite a bit of coaxing :sad: . We had a few CPC yesterday so I thought we were good, but even with forti flora she eats a bit and leaves. UGH. When I spoon feed it, she will eat if not enthusiastically at least most of it but she does turn her head away for some. I'm going to try catch a ketones test later, even though she's been in the lower numbers. I'm giving her pepcid every 12 hours so I just don't know what this is or what to do, since she's usually a good eater now that we are using pepcid.

Maybe it's just a few day phase...but of course, I am worried. Please send prayers and appy vines! It could be we need the anti-nausea or appy stimulants that the vet didn't prescribe? I need to try look at her teeth. I know phos levels too high make them feel bad, or anemia that she has, argh ugh ack :YMSIGH: . Too many thoughts right now...

I'll have to visit some condos later, I have to go make Chyna eat some more and maybe eat something myself. Hopefully some ~O) will make me feel better. Have a good day, guys! :smile:

Prayers and appy vines on their way :-D Please eat your fuds, Chyna - you are making your mommabean worry. Could she just not like those foods today? You know how kitties are.
Is the carb level supposed to be 3% in the beef? I am picking up a can today to try. I have the duck. Cleo used to like it, but not the last few times.

Thanks Jane, I appreciate them so much! :-D Yes, the beef is supposed to be 3%. Phos is higher than I'd like, but I'm just testing "beef". I'll use lower phos if I can figure out if she's allergic without things like pumpkin and potato in it like the steak frites she loves.

I should have specified, Chyna is getting different fuds and none of them are interesting. NV Lamb, NV Beef, and her usual Ziwipeak Lamb...she's never really been a "give me a different flavor" cat. But I guess that can change :?

Aw, I'm sorry Chyna's appy isn't the greatest today. I do wonder, too, if she's just not in the mood for those fuds. I know you have a huge challenge with her allergies on top of everything else...is there anything she can take for the allergies - benedryl or maybe even prednisolone? While that wouldn't be "ideal", she's gotta eat, and if that helps her you can always adjust her juice accordingly and then maybe there might be a few more food options you could try with her. Just tossing ideas out there...I have no first-hand experience with allergies, though.

It drives us beans just crazy when we don't know how to help them :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: ....sending all sorts of vines and prayers your way. I hope you enjoy spending your day with sweet little Chyna!

Aw, Chyna, I hope you are feeling okay and just being picky. Please eat for your Mama. You know how she stresses when you are off your fuds.

Rachel, try not to overthink things. Sometimes they are just being a cat! ;-) It's so easy to get worried about every little thing, but I don't think it's necessary - or good for you!!!

Now Chyna..You eats your fuds!! Just because I drove my bean crazy not eating last week doesn't mean you have to do it this week!~ China

Sorry you're going through it too Rachel. I know last week China was driving me bonkers and no matter what I tried, she just wouldn't eat (Of course the civvies loved it since they got all the food that China refused to eat)

China ate almost normally in the mornings, but evenings she just plain refused to eat no matter what I did...then after 4 days she just stopped it and started eating more normally. I'll probably never know what the problem was, so hopefully Chyna will get over this "whatever it is" and start to eat better for you soon!

Well, that +6 is lower than expected! I spoon fed some LC again. I finally resorted to tuna water mixed into LC at +4 and she ate some of it. I've been giving her little bits all morning on spoons, bowls, and fingers. Then when I was in the shower an hour ago, she went and ate a third of a mini meal on a plate and I caught her at the water fountain :roll: . At least she ate something on her own :smile:

Thanks for the visits, guys. I may as well be on a roller coaster for the mood swings :lol:

-Amy, thanks. She's always been so good to eat whatever. My vet just said to try find a different non allergy protein and avoid the ones that cause her to react, when I'd asked before if there was anything I could do. I have no clue, but I'd like to avoid any extra drugs...I'm desperately searching for fuds, as usual, to try some new ones. Maybe it's like humans, intolerance to foods is uncomfortable and allergy you end up in the hospital :shock: . Thanks for the hugs and vines!

Sending TONS of good appy vines for Chyna. There are so many things that can cause a kitty to be off their food and especially if you are dealing with CKD, it just throws one more possibility in the pot. Paws crossed that whatever it is, it's short lived and you can get her eating well again. Come on, Chyna!! Green numbers means you gots to eat.

Sending prayers for Chyna to eat better for you. I know that can be stressful. Do you leave the food out for her and she can eat it when she feel like it? I know that you try many varieties and finger feed.

Hi Catherine, thanks. Yes, I leave her fuds out all the time in 3 hour rotations of mini meals, she is a grazer ;-) I just make sure she doesn't have anything out (if I can) for the last few hours before shot time. But she is usually done the grazing in the first hour and in the CPC so I don't usually have to worry about leftover fuds :cool: . Thanks for the prayers!

Well, I got a bit more in her, this time beef. She ate while I held the bowl for her while she sat in her cat tree. Who is the master? I think she is :lol:

Sending a few more tons of appy vines over the Rockies to you. :YMHUG: Great cycle today from Chyna. I hope you got some good rest and relaxation in today Rachel. I still think you should experiment with the kangaroo and venison if you can get it. ;-) Know anyone there who is a hunter? Sounds odd, but I've heard of a couple of members who had cats sample venison in season. Both loved it.

I collected a bouquet of appy and health vines for Chyna today. They are making their way west as we speak!
Big hugs to you Rachel. I hate that helpless feeling we get when our furkids are off character.

Thanks for the visits and vines this afternoon, Wendy, Liz, Kim, Shelly, Michelle, and Elise :-D. Wendy, thanks for the PM info that I asked you for, I will be checking for the raw kangaroo/venison "red dog blue kat" next time I'm at the newer cat fuds store in town. Apparently global pets has raw now too so I'm going to pop in there to see what brands they have. Liz, thanks, I am trying for deep breaths and calm. And more petting, less worry ;-)

I'm pretty sure the +2 is fuds influenced since she only ate half her supper at PMPS and I fed her the other half at +1.25 on a spoon, which she ate eagerly. Even though it was a foot away from where she was sleeping :roll: . Oh well, she seems to be feeling ok. And subqs went so smooth compared to lately. She still complained, but sat pretty good for the first 40ml, I managed to get about 60 in. And both last night and tonight she ventured out of her usual places in the spare room to find me about half an hour before PMPS. Tonight I was in my bedroom and she plunked herself in the only patch of sun to wait for mama bean and I presume supper :-D. She's been sun bathing today a lot.

Thanks so much for all your kind words today, guys. I'm so glad that you all understand the worry for our furbabies that I feel :YMHUG: . I just know all the vines and prayers will help :-D
