Morning LL! I am sure happy to see that green this morning after the blue last night...maybe it was the cowboy cookout we tried a few meals of? I froze the remainder of the can for now, in case. It only says 5 carbs as opposed to the 4 on the Wellness Turkey so I wonder why it's caused some kitties BG to go up like I've read others mention confused_cat

Anyways, lots of poo last night, some playing with string, purring and peeing and ALL fuds eaten yesterday and overnight so that's awesome :-D She seems happy and was quite eager for breffis. Chynas ear is still swollen and itchy, but I think the swelling has gone down a tiny bit? Maybe the nail cut yesterday helped to make it less harsh when she scratches...and it could be hopeful wishing but I will keep cleaning it and putting polysporin on it. I'll call the vet when they open to see if they have an appointment to see if it's an ear infection that is causing the itching, and to have them look at the ear swelling. That is, if they're open today with easter weekend going on...I don't really have anything to wrap her back paw in to prevent scratching that would stay on.

Have a great Caturday everyone :-D

Congratulations on Trial Day 13!!
Cowboy Cookout tends to cause a spike with Mags. I bet that's why the blue yesterday.
I hope her little ear is okay and not infected. Sending some healing ear vines.

Thanks! That sucks on the CC food, she really liked it...I wonder if I mix it half and half with another (beef) LC food like Merrick BG (if I can buy it somewhere) if I can still give it without too bad of a spike. Has anyone tried mixing it, and had good results?

On the glove finger, I only have "magic mittens" here that I can probably use a finger off of (lol) other than giant winter gloves that won't work...any ideas on how to get it to stay on? She'll just tear it off with her teeth most likely. I think I have first aid tape. The vet used a mesh sort of sticky wrapping when she had her IV overnight last month and she couldn't get it off. Better than using the cone of shame (which we've never had to use yet, I don't have one either, anti jinx).

I called and the vet is closed until Monday, which I figured. They have emergency services, but this isn't really an emergency, other than for my nerves  She seems contented and happy other than the itchy ear. She's in the CPC club the past few days for sure! dancing_cat

Happy Day Thirteen!!

Shadow doesn't spike on cowboy cookout, she just doesn't want to eat the ones that are "good" for her.
Perhaps you could get one of those nail covers that you glue on cat nails...nail caps

Re: 3/30 Chyna AMBG 76 PMBG 95 Trial Day 13

I was thinking of jersey cotton gloves. There is a kind of tape called Cobain here that would be good. It's not terribly sticky on other things but sticks to itself pretty well.

Thanks for the easter eggs Kat...now I have a craving for chocolate  Thanks for the suggestion for nail caps, I don't really want to use nail caps on her since they last 4-8 weeks and she doesn't have front claws to help her balance...I just don't know what to do. Liz, I don't have any gloves like that but maybe I will run to the drugstore tomorrow to find some of that mesh sticky tape stuff...and somewhere to find cotton gloves. Mini gloves were, well, mini. The finger barely fit over the bottom of her paw ohmygod_smile

She's now started scratching her left ear and chin. I WISH I knew what was causing all this, it has to be something long running if it keeps happening. I am wondering if she is allergic to her litter? I switched to swheat scoop a few months ago, she's always had issues with itchy ears just not this bad to wear off the fur and have the ear swell. When I took scented litter and litter sprinkler away it really helped. Maybe I'll go buy a new litter tomorrow too. The only new thing she's had the past few weeks is the vitamin B and the duck/pea pill pockets...although she's had a few new foods. So frustrating, I want to fix it and don't know how. It does no good to get treated at the vet again and/or give ear drops to clear it up if it's just going to come back right away  I am excited for day 14, just wish my baby girl had no itchies.

Sorry for the frustrated rant. I hope you're all having a good Easter weekend :-D
