LL beans! It is I!, Mannie, kitteh barista! For today I proudly offer Mannie's special 10 hr energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Hawaiian coffee plantations: Hawaii Ka'u blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: Venti quad Irish cream infused white mocha, with hazelnut and caramel whip, garnished with caramelized nut clusters and white chocolate shavings......... PRIMO! Only the best for all my customers....OH! Tea infusions too, by request. They is primo too! I SWEAR! Today: caramel hazelnut chai!! Psssstttt.... I gots scones and croissants too!

Yesterday was.... bounce day!, for whatever reason. :shock: Mannie started out pink, not great, but with potential. Next test had him on the black floor. AIyeee...... So we hope for a better day. I still need to research the meds he is on, see how this all ties in with his FD, I just haven't had the time. On Monday I hope to connect with his IM vetty to have the same discussion. It just seems that since we have added another med that his BG have taken off again, just when they were stating to come down some. Could be too that he just needs time to adjust to it all. In the meantime I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better, be blue vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Yesterday was an OK day for Mannie. There were no more leg/balance/failure issues, short of what has become normal for him. That was a relief! It was a decent day here, but very windy. Mannie made a trip onto the deck, but really didn't want to venture out into the yard. It seems he was able to get enough sniffs from the deck. We ended up with a rainy day later on which found him sound asleep in his bed. Between that and the nanner pile there was alot of napping going on yesterday. Smart kitty! :-D :-D Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. :cool: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone! I have nothing really planned here today. I hope to get out on the local trails for some outdoor time. Paws crossed that the weather will let me. Ah heck... I'll probably go anyways. :lol:

Hey Everybody! What's up??? Guess what - Simon is OTJ today - and we gots a party to do... IN CANADA!!! I Loves Canada. Everybody got their passports are ready??? I so don' t wanna sneak anybody across the border... heeheehehee.... Maybe before we head on out to Canada we can chillax in the treehouse and make sure everything is set to go. Morning Michelle and hope Mannie has a nice slide today. I hope the meds start kicking in and you're able to connect with the IM Vet on Monday to discuss more in detail the meds and any effect on his FD. I'm glad no more with the legs. Sending healing vines for our Mannie. I hope weather cooperates today. Neat pics yesterday on the links of DGS. He sure loves swimming and underwater dunking. :-D Have a great day getting out on the trails, sounds like fun! I hope to get in a walk, been slacking off with strange weather.

Greens would be great too, but I will be happy if he can just make the blues. :-D Me too on Monday and the vet: hope so - she is hard to get a hold of, a very busy vetty. Also very glad on no more legs thing - he still has issues, but not like the day before. A relief! THX on DGS and the pics: he LOVES the water! I too hoep the weather cooperates and it is a dry hike. WOO HOO: looks like it may just do that. I hope you get out too.

I hope you can talk to the IM vet tomorrow and see how the new medicine may be affecting Mannie's BG. I'm glad he didn't have any more leg/balance issues yesterday. Mannie has been through a lot lately. I think he deserved a day of napping. I hope you can get out and get that walk in today.

I know what you mean about being perplexed with if/which treatments and meds are causing various bg patterns. It's such a juggling act, AND a guessing game. I hope the IM vet can help with answers and insight.

Morning Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) Me too on the vet - sure will give it a try. The more I read the more I believe that to be the case. I am so relieved not to see any more of the leg issue we had. And yes, I agree - he so deserves those naps - he tries so hard just to be Mannie, so why not on those naps! :-D THX too on today. Me to! It is on the agenda - weather is looking ok so far. YAY!

Woo hoo another party! Yeah! The wagon is almost locked and loaded and ready to go! I don't need a passport! Everyone knows who Maui the Magnificent is and I can travel anywhere I want passport free! I know, cool huh! Just in case, my bean gave me something to give if someone gives me troubles and no not a special prezzie :mrgreen: :mrgreen: . A little book with my picture on it. At least that is what she says, but we know beans don't always tell the truth.

The bean says thanks for today's delivery. She loves her tea and croissants! And she says that is the truth! Now that it's drooler free. I so want to know who that drooler imposter deliverer is.....I would give him a special prezzie!

When you talk with the vet next, ask the vet if giving methyl b12 would help for his leg weakness issue. It's works for neuropathy, so I'm wondering if it would work for weakness caused by aldestron? I know more things to add to food and deal with, but you can get flavor free version and he won't know it's in the food....just a thought, that I'm sure you already had.....

Morning Hillary ~O) ~O) ~O) THX,a nd yes I will ask about the methyl B12. Right now he is on a maintenance cobalamin injection which is along those tracks, but I'm not sure if it is the same thing, and will address the same issues. So I will check with her. I meant to ask three+ weeks ago, but with everything else it just got put on the back burner. We are due for a recheck next Monday on the potassium levels and his BP, which should also let us know if these meds are indeed fixing things... What I would give to be able to add this stuff to his food so that he doesn't know it's there. If it's odorless and tasteless I might be able to get away with it. Right now it's like he has this crystal ball that flashes when there is anything in his food. silly cat!

Michelle, I hope that you'll be able to get out for a head-clearing walk today. All those meds spinning around in the brain need to be walked out!! :smile: Good luck tomorrow with your talk with the IM vet. I hope that you can get the effects of the various meds straightened out and find the best combination for Mannie. I know how you feel about having to try med after med and not get the desired results. And our kitties hate taking meds, especially if they are in their fuds. Maybe the solution is to find some kind of a food-consistency treat you think Mannie would really like (maybe a new baby food? just a little taste, in a small bowl, not his normal food bowl), put the powdered medication in it, stir it up with some water or plain broth, and present it to him as a treat (maybe sprinkle some Fortiflora on it because the "animal digest" is apparently irresistable to cats). It would have to be something he doesn't normally eat and would have to be presented at times other than normal meal times. Just a thought, since I am thinking along those lines also, getting ready to present Rusty with the Allerplex, when I get it.

YAY! and yes on the hike - we have great weather his morning so far, so after bean fuds time I am headed out. THX too on your thoughts on Mannie and the meds and the IM vetty. I hope I can reach her, may have to settle for a message thing until I can. I look forward to getting her opinion on the meds, the combo, and any adjustments she thinks will help. At least he has not gotten worse, and today so far has been a very good day for him. Anyways - yes on having the meds given apart from meal time. it is what I currently do. Way back when we started the heart stuff I put it in his meals, which worked at first but ended up not being the best way for him Having them separate makes meal still enjoyable for him, and the meds thing is unrelated. I used to so BG all the time, until his P'titis episode and he refused to eat it. We started that again today for his one med, and that went well - licked it all up. I've recently bought some forti flora and can try adding that to the mix. anything to make it an good experience for him, and not so traumatic as the normal manual insertion method. ;-) I really think this is the way to go for him, just hope he continues to like the offerings. Yes too on a separate bowl.

I've just been trying to catch up, I needed time to decompress a little and little Emma is demanding a lot of attention. Sorry about the balance issues and I hope the new meds all work out. It seems like half of Tess's meals are supplements. Fortunately most of them are liver flavored and she loves them. I use a pill crusher and just add the powder to her food. I son't know what Mannie's meds may taste like though. I like Ella's idea, how about a tuna smoothie! :-D :-D :lol:

Remember too tnat Mannie is 16. Some of it is just age, Tess often needs a pillow to stand on when she is climbing onto the couch too.

Hi Ann - yes, that is so true. And not a huge spike either. I's it good to see him down some. THX on Mannie. I hope it does too, and that the meds help with his problems. He is at least stable so that is good. I so know on the fuds additives. I used to do well with mixing it in his fuds, never was an issue. Until he got P'titis, and then it was a no go... The little bugger knew when they were there , when they were not, and simply would not eat anything that was not just fuds. shesshhhhh! I too like Ella's idea and have to some extent been doing that. It so far seems to make a difference in getting them in him. LOVE the tuna smoothie idea. Hmmmmm.... that has possibilities! :lol: :lol: oh yes on the age ting, and right you are - some of this is just age, so we help we he needs it. -- and I hope all is well with Emma.

Hello Michelle - I hope you enjoyed that lovely sunshine today. It sure felt good. Mannie was showing a little sunny yellow too - nice to see and hope to see more of it later today. Maybe even blues to match the sky? Very little wind, so maybe he got out on the deck for some primo sniffing. There is something about the springtime that makes it just that much more interesting. I saw cherry blossoms blooming today. :-D And yahoo on his legs feeling better today.

Mannie - thanks for the chai, it was awesome today!

Hi Wendy :-D I did! We had a nice day here - mid 50's and lots of sun. It was a great day to be out on a trail, so I did. It was just local, but very nice nonetheless. It has been a good day for Mannie - some yellows today, BG's over all are lower, so hopefully we are getting there. :-D I did take him out in the yard for some sun and sniffing and patrol work,. He was so happy. He actually got around fairly well. :cool: VERY COOL on those cherry blossoms! Spring is coming.... :-D :-D :cool: THX too on Mannie: legs did ok today. Better than yesterday, so we hope that is a good sign. The issues come and go, but we hope for a good outcome.
