Good morning every one!

This is the first morning I'm posting with Lances numbers. I started a SS on 2/27 after some of my first posts over in the main forum.
Home testing has really opened my eyes, and I couldnt be happier that we started. Lance too! I may be crazy, but I see him already feeling a bit better. @-)
I've been trying to stay up later to do evening reading on him, but I always end up falling asleep. - Not use to that!

Im still getting all of this figured out, but I am so glad I took that leap and did this. I cant tell you (and im sure a bunch of you understand) how stressed I use to be over blind shooting. Never knowing what was actually going on.

I look forward to continuing this trek to improved health for Lance. He really is my best buddy. I work from home, and although I have to other two "babies", he has been there for me through pretty much all of my young adult life and figuring things out. :-D He knows whats up!

Hello Alicia,

Welcome to LL (Lantus Land) - awesome you are testing now!

You will feel better knowing what is going on with Lance now that you are testing! I am also new to the board!
Feel free to ask questions - not sure I can answer since I am new - but I can point you to information.

Hope you have a great Sunday

Hi Alicia & Lance,

Welcome! I'm so glad you are feeding such good foods and keeping a ss and testing! That's the way to go to help Lance the most.

It might be helpful for you and the people reading your condo if you put a link to your other posts, especially your introductory one, on the main board, here. This way you can avoid being asked the same questions here that you were already asked there and we will be up to date on Lance.

From looking at your ss, it looks like it's possible that 3 or 3.5 might be Lance's low point of the day or Nadir. You only have one reading at that time so it's hard to tell anything but I would check it out. It's important to learn when this is as we base dosage on the nadir. I would suggest that you start getting +3 or 3.5 readings either instead of the .8 or in addition to it. A lot of cats have their nadir early. My Racci's nadir is usually about +3.5, though they all can suddenly change after months of the same nadir also and throw you for a loop.

The 2 best benefits of testing is the knowledge it gives you as far as adjusting the dosage which allows the possibility of going off the juice or at the very least being sure he is at the correct dose, and being safe so you don't overdose him as far as I'm concerned. It also opens up a lot of choices to you by having the knowledge of when he will be high or low in planning your day.

Don't forget to ask questions and to read the stickies at the top of the page. They have a lot of important info.

Have a great day!

Melanie & Racci
