I'll keep her at 4.25 units twice a day a little longer, since I changed needles. She's doing well but so high.

Yes, but I only changed for a longer needle Tuesday night, so that's only 3 full cycles and the 4th starting this morning. I'll see how she does today, maybe?

It's just what i observed. I tried a shorter needle in December because that's what the pharmacy gave me, and her numbers went high. then I tried again twice, and both times she was up after being in blue-green at the same dose for a few days. So I'm afraid I'm not doing it right with a short needle.

Well, it could either be that or that she needs more insulin. I would rather increase her dose and decrease as and when she earns a reduction, rather than let her stay in higher numbers.

I agree with Bhooma. You want her getting used to lower numbers, not higher ones. It’s been too long since green nadirs.
