Firstly, wow, what a fantastic resource this is! I’m a new member and am looking for help spreading the word about a great 10 year old diabetic cat called Patchouli who is looking for his forever home. He’s been with Black Cat Rescue (greater Boston area, MA Black Cat Rescue | Boston, MA) for six months and is yet to get a single person who is interested in adopting him. We think this is because of his age and that he is diabetic. I’m reaching out to this forum in the help folks can help share his description below or give advice on how we can better reach possible adopters for a diabetic cat.
Patchouli loves being close to his humans and will happily follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. He’s social and curious, greeting people with chirps and meows and eagerly rubbing his head against any offered hand. Playful and intelligent, he enjoys chasing wand toys, kicking his catnip banana, and investigating anything new. He’s energetic, cheerful, and always ready for attention, treats, and quality time.
Patchouli would thrive in a home that wants an interactive, people-oriented companion who loves affection and daily engagement. His adopter should be comfortable maintaining his simple, predictable diabetes routine, including twice-daily meals and insulin shots—something he handles calmly and cooperatively.
More information about Patchouli is available at Somerville, MA - Domestic Shorthair. Meet Patchouli a Pet for Adoption - AdoptaPet.com.
