Didn't catch anything too low this morning--didn't get his lowest usual points of +3/4. AMPS was kind of high. Maybe he was lower overnight. Who knows. I really can't seem to see any rhyme or reason to why one day it's great, the next day it's not. PMPS is looking nice a lot of the time. Interesting that today I had a higher number at +8 than at PMPS. I think his +9 snack brings him down, which must mean he has some pancreas working for us!

Are we ok at this dose? I am not sure I would want to go up. . .but the same old dilemma of higher AM pre-shots continues. I don't want to get ourselves into a situation where I have to really worry about him going way too low. . .

Is hanging out in the 60-100 range still healing? Is there a reason to try to push him lower?

hi kim!

i'll see if i can get some help for you from some more experienced folks - it's late enough tonight that it might be tomorrow before you hear anything. you've asked some good questions.

Simon's spreadsheet looks really good with the exception of those higher morning preshot numbers. in my mind, he still has an excellent chance of remission. i certainly wouldn't give up on that hope, if that's what you're thinking. it might be that he just needs a little tweaking of things to help him or he might need a little more time for his pancreas to heal.

eta: you know, his pmps for the past 3 days are all lower in a row than you've seen so far. i kinda wonder if this is an indicator of the overall level coming down. the amps are usually the last numbers to come down. apparently overnight both cats and humans have higher levels of growth hormones and that causes the BG to rise by morning - it's called the Dawn Phenomena.

i'll be curious to see what happens in the next few days.
