I know Daphne is still doing well. But I am really so curious of what has been happening with her numbers ever since I started the +9 nighttime snack. Her numbers went down in the AMPS, (what I was trying to accomplish, so Yay, for that!) BUT, big but, why in the world would it change her whole days numbers to mostly blue now?

I know there may not be an answer for this phenomenon, from what I read, I don't see an answer.
But would really love anyones opinion on this. Like I said, I know Daphne is doing great, but I can't stand not knowing reasons for things...

Re: 3/29 Daphne AMPS 106, +4 70, +8 101, +11 112,

Hi Barb. I have no answers, but wanted to comment on what a beautiful sea of green Daphne's SS is. :-D

Re: 3/29 Daphne AMPS 106, +4 70, +8 101, +11 112,

Barb, I know, and I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, so I took the question mark off, so others that do have a problem will get help…selfish of me, sorry everyone.

I'll be around later to visit a few condos.
My DML is in the hospital again, this makes the 4th or 5th times in two weeks… we will be needing to get more help for them now. So I guess I'm going to be a little busy for a bit, if anyone wonders why I'm not here.

Re: 3/29 Daphne AMPS 106, +4 70, +8 101, +11 112,

Your question is not selfish at all Barb. I think that any question that helps us to understand this disease is a good one and helps everyone that reads it not just you. I don't know the answer though :-|

Thanks Serryn and Barb, but you may be sorry for saying that. I said in one of my post, I'm a research junkie. While others read novels, I read medical journals

Well, Daphne is now sleeping after her last two test, +3 50, and +5 65, could not fit above.

Now, off to research assisted living for my DML & DFL. They are 88 and 91!

Your question about how diet affects Daphne's numbers over the short and long terms is excellent! I'm trying to figure it out for Mookie, too. There are so many variables that can't be measured, though, so I suppose looking at trends on the SS is the best guess. I'm interested in any of the hypotheses you come up with!

That is why you may see, I don't change her food at all, even treats are really just EVO, snacks are EVO, all the same, so I can at least control what she is eating and know it's consistent. She really loves it, so it's not a problem (compared to that awful hard food she was on, it's like a little piece of heaven for her).

For now, I'm just going to see what this extra +9 snack will be doing. I still need to give it some time I think. Her body may just need to adjust to being awakened at 2:30 AM to eat, not that she is complaining, when there is food in front of her, she will eat it no matter what time of day.

I asked my DH if he thought that maybe an ailing pancreas only has so much ability to work in the 24 hours, and so now I'm using the only available working pancreas at 2:30 AM, so the rest of the day, its too tired to kick in again, and maybe before I gave the +9 snack at night, she was able to use her pancreas during the day to keep her numbers down a bit.

I'm sorry, Randa, I haven't done much research on pancreatitis and I see Mookie has this, but when I get a chance I want to read about it. It just so happens my DML is in the hospital for that same issue. We just found that out tonight.

I'll keep at this until I find more answers and maybe we will have to just admit we can't control everything. Thats something I have a hard time with.
