Good morning LL! Zener is having a nice morning despite the stinky pinky start. He is eating well and has been on rounds of the backyard twice, with a little bird watching, lots of sniffing and topped off by the happy crap dash.
Yesterday's condo

Melissa (& Bailey) wrote in our condo last night about using the OTC simethicone (in Gax-X) for gas & tummy cramping. She was reading about his burping post-meals, hard/tight tummy and feeling better after massaging and suggested a little research and to ask our vet. I see where it is used with cats for bloating, gas, etc particularly the infant liquid formula with no sugar. Has anyone had any experience with using this and any thoughts or suggestions?

Inspector Poo was on the job this morning searching for the source of the happy crap dash with great success. A very healthy deposit located and inspected!

Sending lots of healing wishes to Carolyn and Big Mac, Katie, and all in need today in LL.

Re: 3/28 Zener AMPS 366;+1 345;~2.5 284 med?

Hi guys .. I like that zener is making his way down this morning .. No advice from me on the new meds, but it sure would be nice if they worked for him, and didn't raise his BG's .. I was just wondering, just how much does inspector poo make a year? have a great day guys!

Re: 3/28 Zener AMPS 366;+1 345;~2.5 284 med?

Hahaha such a cute picture of Inspector Gadget! Or should the picture be called Inspector Poo? Will you be asking your vetty about this new med today? It sounds like a good choice for his tummy problems.

Super Z its time to come down from up there.

Have a great day Zener, Ann and Liz!

Re: 3/28 Zener AMPS 366;+1 345;~2.5 284 med?

I've mentioned this before, somewhere... can't remember where? anyway, I use Sisu Multi Digestive enzymes for all our cats. a mix of pro and pre biotics, very good for the gut. no sugars. comletely SOLVED the IBD situation that our Sophie developed as a kitten. Helps regulate the gut, it's a people product that I've had a lot of success with for kitties with upset tummies.. might be worth investigating???

here's a link to the stuff: http://www.sisu.com/sisu/products/product.jsp?category=400&sub=402&id=86

just a thought.

Crazy cat. He continues his new pattern of high in the morning and sliding down through the day. That 60 is low though, since he doesn't usually like to eat in the middle of the day. I tested again and got a 59. He did eat his treats, of course, and some 11%. I think he would eat more but I'm going to hold off until I test in 30 mins.

Ah, Inspector Poo! And the mystery of Shredded Wheat!

I have learned so much here at FDMB!!

Re: 3/28 Zener AMPS 366;+1 345;~2.5 284;+6.5 60 med?

Wow, that's quite a slide into green for Zener the Wiener. I'll have to take a look at his SS to see what I've missed in the last few days.

I'm interested in a remedy for gas and cramps for Mookie because he has similar symptoms. I've been using FortiFlora, which he likes, but I don't think it relieves the discomfort as much as it enhances the flavor of his food.

Has all the lovely snow melted?

As always, I love the pic, Celi!

Zener, that's quite from the pinkus. Good he's eating though. Cute pics today.

He is eating really well but starting to get full. I need to go to school so I'm going to give him a couple of treats and that should tide him over while I'm gone. Beautiful day here and I hate to bring him inside but he'll get some more outdoor time when I get back. :-D :-D Thinking of CD and Big Mac, sending tons of snowflakes and healing energy to them.

Zener had very good appy in the AM cycle, paws crossed for the same tonight!

@Devon - Inspector Poo works for the thrill of science!

@Tracy - Definitely Inspector Poo! Our vet is away for 2 weeks, so we will ask about the meds when she returns.

@Pip - thnaks for the info, we will check out these enzymes!

@Celi - LOVE the picture! Once coming back from New Zealand we brought a possum pelt (as a kitty bed, the NZ possum is more like a mink and is a predator for the flightless birds, so they are trying to eradicate them). The customs inspector and all sorts of agents were on that like a fly on poo!

@CD- we are so well educated in all matters of the world by FDMB! Hope Big Mac is resting comfortably tonight.

@Randa - the big guy is loving these AM cycle slides, beans not so much. We use fortiflora too, and would agree it is all about enhancing the flavor and getting him to eat. Check out what Pip recommended in our condo, we may try it to help with Zener's gas and cramps.

@Ann & Maggie - he's a rainbow kitty once again. :shock:

Liz got home from school and he had gone up at +10, then down a little at PMPS, so perhaps a lantus dip tonight? We will be testing often. I have to pick up a faculty candidate from our airport at 11 PM tonight so getting a mid-cycle check will be a snap!

Wishing all in LL a restful evening.

Looks like a blue evening, and safe for bean dreamland.
