~O) ~O) Morning!

Shadow is doing okay. She didn't eat her overnight foods, kinda picked at them and her LB offering was really smelly today.
But she ate her ff appetizer breakfast and is laying near a window on her mini tower.

OT: I won't be having my rotorooter surgery now after all. ( at least it's highly unlikely)
My DH had to go to the ER last night. He's been having on /off pains ... thought they were gas and they found a blockage/
bowel obstruction. Pumped his stomach... xrays, ct scans, something about his intestine rubbing against the wall...
and a previous hernia operation may have had some impact...

I haven't been up there yet and am about to go. My dd stayed with him last night.
I have some upper respiratory thing going on and have no voice and have these awful coughing fits.
He's waiting for this mornings xray to see if they were successful and if not , he is facing surgery today.

prayers for all who need them.... Mannie and Michelle, Noni and Aseel, Kat and Gobbles...
and now my DH... Stephen....

Morning Rhiannon, so sorry to hear about DH and hope he will be alright. Sending healing vines and prayers for him and nice DD can be there with him. Keep us posted.

Very nice BG this morning, Shadow, but eat yer fuds! Your bean has enough to worry about. Mega vines to Stephen! It's a good thing he went to the ER. Hugs to you, Rhiannon.

((((Rhiannon)))), Positive thoughts and prayers for Stephen today. I hope that all will be OK with him and with you. Shadow looks good this morning and hoping that she will continue to feel better and better.

Shadow is eating her lunch. Maybe her appetite is catching up or at least her offering was pleasing . :lol:


They think Stephen has adhesion. Took him off for another xray and will assess whether or not he gets to have surgery. It is a microsurgery, minimally invasive.

I hope your DH doesn't have to have surgery. At least it won't be major surgery if he does. Sending prayers for you and your DH.

I'm glad Shadow seems to be doing better.

Sending many prayers and vines. Good to hear that it can be something minimally invasive and not a bad surgery. Will keep my fingers crossed it is something low risk and straightforward. (((hugs)))

Holy smokes! Things sure can change in 24 hours. Strength and healing vines to your family. Glad you're doing better, but ugh! Poor Stephen! At least lil Shadow is looking great! Hang in there! :YMHUG:

Definitely a lot going on for you, Rhiannon.

So glad to see Shadow's good numbers but praying for Stephen and his quick healing. Yikes. If it isn't one thing its another, huh?

Hi Rhiannon. Glad to see Shadow is keeping her BG number down following the dental procedure.

So sorry to hear that your that Stephen is in the hospital. Just about everyone that had abdominal surgery will have abdominal adhesions but most won't be so bad as to cause blockage of the intestines. We will have you and Stephen in our Prayers.

Gobbles & I just stopped in to say hello as we haven't been doing enough "visiting" -- lots going on here.... Sorry to hear you & DH aren't feeling well; sending prayers up for you! Hope your sugar-baby is doing well and we're sending OTJ vines to sugar cats everywhere!

it's just bombarding us today.

My 89 year old grandmother in Tx fell today...got taken by ambulance to ER and she broke her hip.
She's having surgery in the morning. ohmygod_smile
She takes care of my 68 year old mother who has lupus , congestive heart failure, breathing issues and can barely get around on her own. (can't drive)
My grandmother will be in hospital for a week and then to a rehab place for probably 3 weeks..
I'm trying to get my mother looking for someone to come help at least occasionally, Home Instead... something...

She does have a woman who comes on weekdays for 2 hrs to do things for her ( heavenly angels or something thru medicaid)
But that's it.

They are trying to equilibriate Steve's stomach and intestines, Nasogastric intubation and we'll see from there.

Oh dear! Mega surgery and healing vines for your grandmother. She sounds like one tough Texan. I hope you can work out something for your mother. More vines for Stephen and you. And big hugs too.

Oh, been there, done that with hubby more times than I can count!! He absolutely HATES NG tubes and will do almost anything to avoid it! He's had probably 8 belly surgeries in the last 10 years or so -- hernia repair followed by 7 repairs of the repair of the repair, adhesions, staph infections, etc., etc.

Best thing for Stephen is to WALK, WALK, WALK as soon as they let him out of bed. He won't be comfortable, but the more he walks, the faster the intestines "wake up" and things get "moving" again. And don't put anything on his stomach until he, to put it indelicately, passes gas -- that's the signal that the intestines are awake and ready for action again.

So sorry to hear about your grandmother on top of everything else.

Oh my. You definitely have your hands full. When it rains it pours. Hang in there Rhiannon. And may Shadows health be the least of your worries.

Thank you everyone!!

It's been a crazy day except for Shadow , doing her usual napping in cozy places or hanging with me when I'm home.
I'm taking big time cold medications to get over this , hard to do much when you have no voice left.

Going to ENT tomorrow to get my eartube put back in my eardrum and antibiotics and then back to see what they have decided about DH.
Probably don't need a condo either since Shadow is doing okay.
Maybe we won't need any juice afterall. :mrgreen:

My DH will not be happy if this becomes more than a one time thing.... Hope it's not the same thing, Susan!

Shadow - you are looking great. Keep it up, especially now.
 
Wow, you guys certainly have your hands full. Sending a whole box full of vines of various size, shape, color and type. Shadow is wearing a lovely color, so that's one thing you don't need to work about. (((hugs)))
