Hoping he won't go so high tonight.

I hope so too Deb. I had the opposite problem this morning - Jez was surprisingly low so I waited and shot reduced......Lesson learned is to be careful what I wish for, lol.

That +6 is strange, if he's HI again tonight, I might have to consider pushing him back up.

It does seem strange - but there have been a lot of flat kitties out there. Are you in a position to get like a +9 or maybe a +10 to see when he starts zooming up....cause it looks like he's pretty flat at the moment....and it seems like he jumps a lot somewhere between that point and your +12....

And now I'm thinking of flat kitties like Flat Stanleyhttp://www.flatstanleyproject.com/.....might be kind of fun bringing a Flat Cat on vacation.....

It's already +10.5. I'll bet on a HI tonight, when he goes up, it's usually fast and steep.

Mel thinks I should give him a few more days and see if he settles in, if not then I'll have to boost him back to 2.0 and see if he earns another reduction on it.

I may have to let him get lower for a reduction, 40 instead of 50.

But how you do that while steering? I'm not going to NOT feed him when he's at 60, ya know? That's just too risky in my book. Have no clue. :?

Deb - I would think it's OK to not feed him at 60 as long as you test frequently - because you don't know if he's on his way up or down or just surfing at that number.....and giving food will change that dynamic. From what I've read - the danger number is 40 - that's where you need to feed/syrup or do something to ensure the number doesn't drop further. My personal "do something" number is 50 at the moment.....

Of course, I don't have to deal with low numbers very often....but I know Mel does, so I'm sure she'll weigh in with a much more knowledgeable opinion on this.

Re: 3/28 Lucian AMPS 268,+6/287

They whole reason we steer Lucian is because of severe high bounces that most cats don't have. And when he's at 50 at +5 and doesn't nadir at times until pushing +8, there really isn't much choice.

As it's said ECID and I have to go by Lucian's past record.

If he was at 60 at +7, I wouldn't worry much, knowing he's on his way up, probably. It makes a difference where he is in his cycle.

Since he is known to nadir late in the cycle, I can't take a chance and he has no set nadir.

Right this second he's throwing up a furball, can't wait to see what that does to his PMPS which is due in 5 min.

PMPS 228? Figure that one out? :o

Maybe he's settling in to the dose - his shed is full so you won't see that dramatic zoom in the last hour or so?

-You're right every cat is different - and you should do whatever you feel is right in terms of steering.....but it is kinda hard to tell what would happen if you didn't if you don't try (with close supervision, of course).

Oh goodie now I have you all doing the ECID...lol

Honestly it depends on where in the cycle those 50s and 60s hit and knowing your individual cats...with Autumn I don't worry about feeding her up until she hits 40 and then only if it is early in the cycle because she normally has a very late nadir (or did) plus she is easy to feed up on very little food...although I have seen cats that would be in blind staggers at 40 or lower and take forever to feed up.

Lucian - you listen good now. Your mom is doing her best to get you properly regulated to make you healthier and happier....but you have to do your part too - whats up with these weird numbers? Here's how its supposed to go. Your mom gives you a shot - you go down gradually and come up just a little bit in time for your next shot. And you try for manly colors like blues......eventually when mom isn't so nervous you can wear green more often.....

Got it?

OK - now go wake mom up - I think its time for your brekkie.......
