3/28 Kit AMPS 341, +1 381, +4 325, PMPS 309, +2 240, +4 197

Thanks Alicia.
I see your point. The use of higher ones to minimize the potential of a big drop, which hopefully produces a mellower cycle with less potential for a bounce later.
Mikan has a problem of volatile ups and downs. I feel I'm always one step behind, chasing the numbers.
I look at others' SSs with nice flatter curves and think, why? Why can't Mikan do that?
I'm gonna try experimenting myself. Although Mikan's a finicky eater and one thing she loves one day may be something she would turn her nose up the next
But I've got to find a better way to minimize the extremes.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Hope you didn't have to stay up too late last night!
Kit's pretty finicky as well - I have probably 8 -10 fancy feast flavors, and then the 5-6% flavors, the 7% flavor, the 9% flavor, and all the MC/HC flavors that I sometimes use with like, a zero percent carb to bring the overall number lower while changing the flavors. It's still hit or miss some days.
And I get the feeling of chasing the numbers - when Kit gets into a bounce and drop cycle, she digs her claws in and it feels like I'm not accomplishing anything. I'm dreading what the comedown from a morning of nothing but pink is gonna look like.

WOW, you’ve got this down. I’m so impressed. I still don’t really get what to feel and when. I feel like I’m being much more reactive when I see a drop coming and then, of course ultimately she just bounces up high after that big drop :banghead:

I'm feeling less successful today, but that's mostly out of my control, I think. And sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I need to delve more into the ingredients to really fine tune it, I think. I just don't have the brain space. 5.5 weeks till the end of classed though! *excited fanfare*
It helps that Kit is pretty consistent in her big drop times. If she's gonna have one, it'll likely be at +1 or +2. And the thing that @Angela & Cleo told that me that really helped - you have to be consistent with your choices. It feels like the wrong choice to feed a higher carb when they're high, but there are reasons you're doing it. Coming out of the vacation dose, and needing to get back on central time from pacific, and readjusting her shot time back to where I need it for my schedule has all made the last week a bit rougher than usual.

Oof is right. It's a bounce to Mars. It's a rare thing for Kit cat but must be the nosy liver stepping in to create the sugar shower.
She's staying high and mighty, probably preparing to recalibrate back down soon.
And let you be away without having to worry. Enjoy the day. She'll get back to the swing of things. :bighug:;)

Oof - definitely a bounce from yesterday. But then did none of the insulin go in? Girl is just pink pink pink. :arghh::blackeye: :banghead:

I don't think I missed this morning, but she's also never just stayed pink. I guess the silver lining is it made it easier to know I had to be away most of the day.
Soooo unlike Miss Kit. Wow. I hope you had a calm day and tonight is not crazy from that Martian bounce, Alicia. Sending pawsitive vibes to your house!

Still in pink at PMPS. This girl.

We managed to get a 3' tall by 42' wide section of a false proscenium rigged and hung this afternoon. It needs to go higher, and needs to be adjusted for a tilt, but it's up, and that's all I wanted for today. I think I need to offer some extra credit to some folks in my class to get some extra muscle for the next lift. So, while not a relaxing afternoon, we got done what I hoped we'd get done.
