Good Morning LL ~O) Looks like he feels better this morning: peed, preened, purred, drinking water, played, pooed (albeit diarrhea @4:12 a.m.). I gave him non-fat, plain yogurt yesterday at about 7 p.m., and that may be responsible for the diarrhea; I am not giving him the yogurt today, just in case. He is getting fortiflora mixed in his food since last night; if I wait till he's hungry enough, he seems to not really noticed that I've mixed it in with the food, so long as I don't add a lot of it to his food. He has been consecutively in the pinks since yesterday morning; perhaps he'll decide he likes yellow or blue better than pink sometime today!!!

Re: 3/27 Gobbles AMPS 355

I'm glad Gobbles is doing better. Hopefully he'll keep eating the food with the fortiflora in it. His BGs may stay higher as long as he is on the ABs. Some cats are effected by it and some are not.

Thanks so much Carla; I didn't know that about the AB's. Like I stated above: no yogurt today. Do you know if fortiflora can cause diarrhea?

Re: 3/27 Gobbles AMPS 355

Morning Kat,

We had a vet recommend using fortiflora when Zeus was on an Abs because she said that Abs can cause diarrhea and an upset tummy, where fortiflora can help. The vet also said that I could see higher BGs while on the Abs.

Have a great day.
Kathie

Thanks so much Kathie. My vet said to let the A/B's run their course, and if he was still having diarrhea after that, to give him a call. I would think fortiflora doesn't cause diarrhea since it's good for the tummy, but thought it was worth mentioning. I was on heavy antibiotics last year and I was given a probiotic to take along with them; so I guess it's the same for cats :-D

Re: 3/27 Gobbles AMPS 355

FortiFlora helps with loose bowels - Leo has on and off problems I think the FortiFlora helps. Not exactly sure but it seems to. We think he has some food sensitivities or a little IBS so we can't directly tie the loose bowels to a specific cause. I hope it works with Gobbles if you can get it in him.

Thanks Lisa! Sorry Leo has diarrhea from time to time!!! Gobbles does seriously dislike the taste of FortiFlora, but I am mixing it into the "stinkiest" cat food I can find; if he's hungry enough, he'll eat it. I've been giving him cypro every day (the advice of my vet because his appetite hasn't been great these past few weeks) which sure helps to make him hungry and thus gets some FortiFlora in him....

Good luck with the higher BGs! I hope the diarrea stops soon!
Thanks Mary :-D I'm thinking that maybe the higher BG's could be the A/B as people have pointed out to me....
