It was recommended that I hold the 3iu for six days before adjusting again. I notice that there has been slightly less reds since raising the dose, but still staying high and he's not doing too good and has started limping? There were no ketones at the vet the other day.

He's almost finished 6 cycles/3 "days of 3iu. Should I consider upping the dose sooner? I'm worried because he seems to be declining

(he did have around 9 days of 1.5 iu under vet care before I started testing.

Let's see what he does tonight on 3.0 units. If you don't see anything below 300, you can go to 3.5 units tomorrow morning. Patience is important.

You should consider getting some urine ketones strips and testing yourself at home. Ketostix is a common brand. Tips to catch and test a urine sample

Do you think he might be showing signs of neuropathy? It's not uncommon. More detail here: Feline Diabetic Neuropathy (weak back legs)

Hello, I put his dose to 3.5 overnight because I was able to be up testing him. It got him into the yellow which I was happy with. Just wondering the depot for 3.5 wouldn't be built yet? So is there much chance of it dropping him too low over the next week? Or just time will tell? I hope I haven't rushed him to this point too fast, but he almost instantly seemed himself again once he was in the yellows, and has been running around playing which I haven't seen in over a month. Should I continue with the 3.5?

I read about the neuropathy and he fits the descriptions completey :( I'm reading a b12 supplement might be good?

The 3.5 unit depot would not be built yet, but some cats will show you a hint of what the new dose can do in the first cycle or two. Great that you got all that yellow. And a low one too. :) The next increase, if you need to do it, won't be by more than 0.25 units.

By the way, our convention here is one post per day, with a link to the previous post. It helps us keep track of the current action with each cat. People often won't stop by an old post.

Zobaline is a product made for neuropathy. It's primarily methyl B12 - you have to get the right kind.
