Been a few days since I've posted Eddie's condo. We're trucking along, struggling to try to get back on track after losing some great progress when we went out of town a couple weekends ago. We seem to either have high flat cycles or long-ish cycles with late nadirs. We haven't seen a green number for weeks. We're back up to the scale I was using that Carl helped put together around a month ago, and I'm tempted to go up another 0.2 if we don't see some green nadirs in the couple cycles. Maybe Eddie just needs some sort of "breakthrough" to get him ready to go back down the scale.
Looks like Eddie might surf a bit tonight. To try to get some half-way decent numbers, we're just going to roll with shooting whenever he's ready to shoot, and work around his schedule.
I have been trying to study up on the mechanism of how ProZinc works, and in my non-scientific understanding, the "zinc" in the ProZinc is in crystal form that contains the insulin, and those crystals dissolve over time to allow for a slow release of the insulin. That could explain why higher doses could result in longer duration.
Our fat civilian plopped down in front of me when I was trying to test Eddie tonight, so I poked his ear, and got enough blood to get a test! To my great relief, our obese civilian's BG was 60. Phew! One diabetic cat is enough! I was secretly worried that he might be headed down the diabetes path too, given his weight. He has slowly started to shave some weight after dumping all the dry food about three months ago.
