It worked!

You have to read yesterdays post to know why I have a very happy dancing kitty (and happy bean)

Last night at 2:30 AM I tested and gave 1tbsp. of EVO (her regular stuff), so the "experiment worked" And now down to reality, SHE IS A CAT, so I am not going to get too excited about this, but I am excited, can't help myself.

Got to run, the tub is waiting for me, my body is hurting bad. I'll be back later to give my other ideas from what I learned on the web sites I have on my post.

Re: 3/25 Daphne AMPS 98, + 3 59

Just wanted to thank, Celi, Libby, Sienne, Marje, and anyone else who contributed to my little experiment yesterday and today. It worked once, I won't get my hopes up too high, since this in not a real experiment that I'm sure Marje could correct me on, :-D but this, one time, one kitty, did good

Celi said,
the late cycle snack only works for a limited amount of kitties
with a sputtering pancreas
So I guess Daphne may have a sputtering pancreas??

I may also try and change her shot times by a few hours (slowly over many days of 15min. increments), but for now, I'll stick with the snack at about 2:30 AM and see how we do.

Have a great night everyone!
I will be around later to visit condos, just came back from a family dinner ~O) See how far my body will let me go.

Re: 3/25 Daphne AMPS 98, + 3 59

great!

Don't worry, you won't have to do this forever. Once her pancreas is stronger, it should be able to take on more of the work itself, but for now you can help her along. Keep it up, Daphne's pancreas!

Re: 3/25 Daphne AMPS 98, + 3 59

I have to apologize, I missed some of late last nights Daphne post. Sometimes even though I stay up till 2AM or 3AM, I don't always go back on the computer.

So, I'll reply to some here.

Amy, thanks for the offer of the auto feeder, I may take you up on it, but I think I may have them (I had two and loaned them to neighbor…not sure what happened after that), so I'll look for them first. I'm also not sure if Daphne will be able to use it because she lays down to eat her food, because of her arthritis, and she needs her plates low, and I remember mine were a bit off the floor. Actually right now, I can still give her that late night feeding because I'm up anyway till 2 or 3.

Marje, I know you are right, I did try this before. It's my stupid memory again. Things are just erased, and sometimes it will come back, so its vague, but I remember a little.

Ella, I also missed your post, but I agree, I do think it's the Dawn Phenomenon, but with the little snack at 2:30 AM kicking her pancreas to work, it may give just that little bit more of insulin that is being resisted because of those hormones being released, mentioned in the Mayo Clinic web site on Dawn Phenomenon.

I'm sure Daphne will have her own idea on the whole subject for all of us, she is a cat.

Whoo hoo a green start for Daphne with that little extra snack - I'm excited too!

Re: 3/25 Daphne AMPS 98, + 3 59 PMPS 85

Very nice numbers for Daphne. wow - very impressive. I am glad that the late snack worked this time and brought that amps number in line. YAY! I hope that it will continue to be so. Well done Daphne!

Thanks Serryn and Michelle, I'm trying not to be too excited. It has been bugging me for so long and just wanted to get some answers and so Daphne was such a sweet heart to cooperated, and even since I had to wake her to get her to eat, there was NO complaining on her part, she really does have the appetite!

I'm afraid I may have given a fur shot tonight, got home late by 15 min. and was in such a hurry to get the stuff in her. I never shot her and had the syringe go through to the other side of the pinched skin. :o She seems to be fine though.
