Hello LL! ~O)

These numbers are making me actually look forward to the dental! Well, not the dental exactly, but after the dental. Maybe they can knock me out too and I'll wake up after it's over! :lol: :lol: Bailey seems to feel fine, she was excited for breffis today nom nom nom. I hope the kitties will let us sleep tonight - if one has to fast then they all have to fast. :roll:

DH was walking Blue around midnight last night and he got mugged! :o A block from our house! :shock: 3 kids in a car, 1 with a gun, stopped him and had him empty his pockets. It was kind of a weird experience... they told him they weren't actually bad people, they were 'just doing bad right now'. He ended up talking to them for like 5 minutes about where they were from, what school they went to, etc. They told him he should go get a conceal/carry permit so this wouldn't happen to him. He was like, 'then we'd both have guns, and someone would definitely get shot'. He had $70 in his wallet, and they let him keep $20.

Weird, huh?! I am kind of paranoid about him walking the dogs now, and he told me not to go walking around at night. Umm, I get home from work at midnight:30. Trying not to worry about it too much...

ohmygosh melissa, how scary! :YMHUG: your DH sounds like a great guy if he could get those kids to talk to him.

we'll be cheering bailey on for the dental tomorrow and hoping that brings her numbers down quickly.
 
Oh! I am so sorry for what had happened! Kansas is an unsafe city? Luckily your DH is fine! And good luck with Bailey's dental.
 
Oh my gosh! Glad everything was OK!

As I was reading this I kept thinking these kids were the most polite muggers -

"Pardon us, Sir. We're here to take your money. If you wouldn't mind handing over your wallet, we'd appreciate it. And because we feel so bad in what we're doing we'll let you keep $20, just in case you need it. Thank you so much for your cooperation. We hope this experience wasn't too frightening. We're working on our technique. Have a pleasant evening. " :lol: :lol:
 
:lol: :lol: :lol: Cathy, exactly!! What kind of mugger lets you keep $20 and has a conversation with you?! These were not professionals. Faces and license plates uncovered, etc. I think I would be a lot more scared if they were hardened criminals... still not too thrilled about it though.
 
Uh, do they know that people go to jail for robbery? Really dumb. Did you call the police? Paws crossed for Bailey's dental. She'll do fine. I hope you do too, Melissa. :-D

I'm glad no one was hurt. It does make you wonder if these were kids being stupid or if their families were in dire straits.

Good dental vines headed Bailey's way.
 
Wow Melissa that is absolutely crazy!! Its good that your hubby wasn't hurt at all, kids sure are crazy these days :roll: Be careful you two!!!

And Leo and i are sending Bailey all the best dental vines for tomorrow.

:o :shock: on the mugging, your DH must have one cool head on his shoulders - well done to him. Since they were being so polite about it, maybe he should have mentioned while he was there that his missus sometimes walks the dog and would they please leave you be since they'd mugged him already :lol:

Sorry it is in my nature to laugh at such things once everyone is safe and sound, hope you don't find it too inappropriate :smile:

And omg on the mugging... I am glad no one was hurt. Your DH is one cool dude - he handled it all well. wow - what an adventure....
 
Wow & Thank God your DH was unharmed!! He must have a pretty cool demeanor to speak to them & walk away, especially with $20!! And his LIFE!! Very scary, but sounds like those kids need some one to catch them & have them know what the consequences are!!

Paws & fingers crossed for an easy dental --Believe me it's worse for us than for them, they are sedated!!

Your DH is one cool customer, and thank goodness nobody got hurt!

Man, people never consider the horrendous consequences of what they see as "a bit of fun" or a "good idea given our situation".

OMG, spent most of yesterday in the yard and am just seeing this!! I'm so glad DH is okay! Going to have to be extra vigilant... I have been lulled into a sense of security a bit since making the move from Midtown to the suburbs. Crime happens everywhere.

I must admit, though, my first thought was how our polite police officer Putty might respond to the call..... :lol: :lol: :lol:

I'm so glad DH is safe! That is so scary. But what an odd mugging. I happen to be a juvenile prosecutor, so I'm intrigued by that story! Have they been caught yet? Sounds like your husband was able to get plenty of information on them. Keep us posted.
I'll be keeping a good thought today for Bailey.
 
Wow, just caught this condo .. can't believe your DH got mugged! Even if they were the most polite muggers ever, I'd still be scared about walking alone, or even with dogs .. yeeks .. and I also hope bailey's dental goes well!
