:banghead: I messed up last night.
We had another beautiful blue pre-shot reading last night and I messed it up with a fur shot :arghh: I rarely ever give fur shots but Kai had a bad case of the wiggles plus his long hair and :rolleyes:
Hopefully he comes down gently today.

Funny Story Time - Not Diabetic Related:
Kai is scared of the big vacuum cleaner. He doesn't mind the Roomba or the small handheld vac that I use around his litter box and eating area, but he does NOT like the big monster vacuum that I use on the shag carpets. So whenever you turn it on he usually runs and hides under my bed and stays there until you put it away. This weekend I vacuumed the whole house, per our usual cleaning routine, and after putting it away I noticed he was missing for a good while. I hadn't seen him in like an hour or so. Usually he comes back out and hangs around me because it is getting close to his meal time. I figured he was just still hiding under my bed upstairs. However, when I went to go check on him he wasn't there! Thus began the great cat-hunt. I started checking all of his usual spots and shaking his treat bag all over the house. But NOTHING! Cue the panic! My first thought was, "oh God, what if he got outside while I was taking out some trash and old boxes." So I ran outside and did several laps around our house and the neighborhood screaming for him and shaking his treat bag. Still nothing. By this point I was in tears. I went back inside and began really turning the house upside down. I opened up every cabinet and closet. Finally I opened the linen closet where I keep the cleaning supplies and TAHDA there he was on the bottom shelf. He must have slipped in there after I put away the cleaning supplies and then while I was vacuuming I must have unknowingly closed the door on him :nailbiting:. Has anyone else ever lost your cat inside your own house before?

Anyways, I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday ❤️

Oh you poor mama!! Sending you best wishes for a calm and very boring day today, Maddie. You’ve earned it.
Sorry about the first shot. Please be kind to yourself, most of us do it me included, of course. It sucks, but Kai will recover :bighug:

And of course, I’ve lost my cat in my own house. Just last week I went into the mechanical room in the basement for about two minutes to get something. (Of course, I didn’t notice that Ivy slipped in behind me and I shut the lights and close the door).
About an hour later, her auto feeder opened for her +1 snack and she didn’t show up.
I gave it about 15 minutes and began the great hunt for my cat. I went throughout the house looking in every closet, on every chair, under every table, no Ivy.
Finally, I thought, well I went in the mechanical room. I know she didn’t go in there, but I’ll look anyway.
Of course, as soon as I open the door, she was screaming at me because I locked her in there in the dark. ;)She hit me and bit my ankle, boy was she pissed

Of course, my husband had to comment that had he done that, I would be screaming at him. (Of course he’s right on that one). Oops
I felt so badly that I had left her in there. I had no idea. They are fast aren’t they?
At least Kai looked calm and relaxed on the shelf where he was cozy and hopefully he didn’t scream at you or bite you. ;)

Awww, I'm so sorry about the fur shot. They really are demoralizing. But it's also not as big a deal as it feels like... He'll be back on track in no time! I know it's hard to see though.

lol That's a great story! Poor you, panicking looking for him and he's just entirely unbothered in there. I have also "lost" my cat in my own house, and it's usually in a closet that he opened the sliding door to lol

Oh goodness that panic is relatable, so glad you found him! Haha he looks comfy! I was afraid he got locked in with the dreaded vacuum!

Glad to know I'm not the only one. They can be so quiet and sneaky when they want to be lol!

I'm not entirely conviced that they don't do it on purpose :arghh:
