Well Queenie must have known I was worried about going out today. We're starting out today in the PINK and I'm wondering if I gave a fur shot last night, (though I've been doing much better with that lately). I have 2.5 hours to go before it's time to shoot and then I must go for much of the day for a dr appt. no getting a +2.... I'll leave some fresh wet food out and a few foodcicles.

Any advice?

PS. Whoever added the question mark tag, THANKS!

It looks like Queenie might be okay today while you are out, but it also looks like Queenie is currently on a bounce and you just never can tell when they will clear. I would definitely leave food out just in case.

I suspect that this is a bounce and not a fur shot. It looks to me like Queenie cleared the bounce after the greens on the 22nd and then thought better of it all after dropping from the pinks to the blues yesterday. She may be clearing bounces quickly so I agree with Tina -- leave food out as a precaution.

Thanks Sienne! You feed HC routinely to help keep Gabby from going to low I see. I have a ways to go before we're there, but had thought about that for today in case she was to low at shot time for me to feel comfortable. I should only be gone about 6 hours or so.

Gabby is a long term diabetic who has a history of impressive bouncing. You might want to look at the "early" days to see what I mean. I use a strategy to prevent her from getting dose reductions since it helped to flatten out her numbers. I don't recommend this unless you have lots of data and know your kittie's patterns. I'm happy to talk to you more about the strategy but you should know that I feed her curve the way I do for very specific reasons.

Thanks Sienne, I know there is a lot to learn and that ECID, and it's too soon to know where this is headed. I just found it interesting what you were doing. I need to figure out a feeding schedule and land on a food choice that works. I thought it would be safe using the wet DM to start with but Queenie does seem to be pretty bouncy and I feel she is responding to food quickly. I'm not sure this food is keeping her as even as the vets would have be believe. I am certainly not sold on the prescription only diet. It was just one variable I thought I'd work on a little later....
