Nova didn't take me for an adventure last night.. probably because she ate a TON of food during the first half of the PM cycle.. She was in a good mood this morning when I woke up..had happy tail (she hangs her tail off the cat tree and curls the tip upwards in a U.. even when she's sleeping.. kinda odd.. seems to me that the more it's curled, the better she feels).. and gave her face a big wash as I prepped morning meds/food..
I'm still sick .. I can't remember it ever happening to me before.. but basically have all the normal flu symptoms including fever.. but my temperature is low, not high?.. seems like the oddest thing. But I have to venture out into the evil outside today even though I feel like crap.. need testing strips, and some baby food for my heart cat.. he's just not eating very much..sigh. He's not a big fan of the baby food, but I never like syringing his normal food, since he hates that process and I don't want him to associate it with the taste of his regular food (took him over a year to forget the last time I made that mistake).

any chance of trying other brands?

Yeah we're still using the old label stuff.. I imagine today I'll be forced to buy the new stuff.. I have been trying other brands with him.. can't seem to get him to eat any of the sophisticat thats diabetic friendly..got him to eat a little bit of Natural Choice Turkey and Chicken Platter yesterday... can't find carb content on it (food lists were down yesterday).. my guess is it's probably at the high end of medium carb.. (rice stuff is ingredients #7 and #8 I think, right before all the "misc" stuff).. but this morning he wouldn't touch it..
In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter what he eats as long as he eats.. but it sure would be nice to find something that I didn't have to work so hard to keep Nova away from.. she's top cat, so everyones food is her food (and the boys agree).. it's enough of a pain in the butt with Hitch's kibbies.
Yep I know about the baby food.. usually keep a few jars of the safe flavours around all the time.. but up until recently Jerry was maintaining his weight pretty good for quite a while.. so would rather get new jars.

Thinking of Nova's "original name" of Serenity reminded me of getting her from the Animal shelter. Here's the (bad) picture that was on their website and a more recent picture with a similar pose. Nova had just had 3 babies when that first picture was taken, and was under 7 pounds (should be 12).. she was a sickies lil'n when I got her.. it's almost like kitten vs grown up picture.. except she was 3!
It's weird how you can tell it's the same cat.. but she looks so much different/healthier/prettier.. aw I wubz her .

What a beauty she is and she knows you wubz her too.
Her shelter picture (aside from being from a really awful camera) doesn't really show very well the shape she was in..she was so scraggly, and all boobs.. she had some sort of boob problem that I can't remember the details of, just that her boobs were big and ouchies for probably about 4 or 5 months after the babies were born and I had to put some sort of cream on them..
She's mostly black, had her boob problem, worms, uri, can't remember what else, and her food problems, looked pretty sickly, was an adult, hated people and was violent (she has NEVER been violent to me, she's all talk - hissy and stuff - but never acts on it).. and for all of that I am greatful.. because she was next on "the list".. and therefor became mine (or more accurately, I became hers)
As for Nova now.. what the HECK are you trying to do to me with your BGs aaaaaah.
