Now that I am trying to move Queenie's shot time to morning its going to be harder to fast her for 2 hours before shot time (I have a bunch of others I am feeding and it gets complicated). So if's she's begging can I give her a pure protien treat in that 2 hour window as long as I'm sure she'll eat when I shoot?

I am guessing that it's safe to do a full dose and then check at +2 but I'd like a little hand holding if possible. Julia has said that the Lantus is better in the low numbers, but this is a good bit lower than my PMPS from yesterday.

As long as the 104 wasn't after Queenie ate, it looks like numbers are rising. If you have strips and HC if you need it and if you'll be home to monitor, I think you're OK to shoot. Please get a +1 an +2 test. Whenever you're shooting lower than you typically shoot, it's helpful to get early tests so you're not surprised.

If she drops below 50, you give a teaspoon or 2 of the "gravy" from a Gravy Lovers type food. Don't feed a lot of the meat part. What we do is pop the top, put it back down and squeeze to get as much of just the gravy as we can out and into a bowl or tupperware dish.

You recheck every 20-30 minutes...if it climbs into the upper 60's or so, you stop giving the high carb and try only regular low carb food ...if she stays too low, (or drops back down under 50) you give more gravy and retest in 20-30 minutes (we call that "Lather, rinse, repeat"....LOL)

Once they're in the high 60's or above, you want to give one more snack of low carb food and then no more (unless they drop again) You need to continue testing until it's been about 2 hours since they had any food and they're still staying in safe numbers

Great greens last night and a lovely set of blues today for Queenie.

Sienne's Gabby loves to dive early in the cycle. Sienne gives Gabby carbs early in the cycle to even her out so she doesn't dive too low and so that she can go to work. I don't think it's something you have to do for Queenie.

Thanks Wendy I thought that might be the explanation. I guess when you work away from home tapering the dose down can be pretty tricky.
