Nova's feeling fine.. in the back of my mind the last few days I've been thinking Nova isn't eating as much as she used to.. which wouldn't be a bad thing, she's really fat! But it's so hard to tell with the disgusting amount of food I throw out each day. Have been slacking on weighing, have to get back on the ball with that.. have just been concentrating on trying to talk her into eating the non-seafood FF flavours.. long battle. sigh.
Edit: Nova only gained 0.13 pounds in the last 12 days! (her surgery probably helped that number some haha).. but I'll take it! For the last 6 months she's been gaining a little more then that each week. My HCM cat is of course losing weight .. such a battle to keep weight on him. I have 3 cats, so naturally, 1 gains too much weight, 1 loses too much weight, and 1 stays just right. Blarg.
Dawn, has Nova always been a Fancy Feast kitty? Some of us have noticed our furbabies turning away from the FF with the new label (the picture of the cat is on the left of the name, not the right). I found some old-label FF, and suddenly I wasn't washing food down the drain anymore! We'll be making a transition to a new food soon.
I hope you can get Nova's diet where you want it to be!
Don't have any of the new label food yet.. today (if Nova and my stomach decide I can leave the house) going for diabetes supplies/cat food run.. assume I'll only be able to find the new label stuff.. just what I need..another food adventure . Trying to get her to eat turkey & giblets FF, she's not super keen on any of the diabetic FF flavours that aren't seafood, if this new label stuff sets the battle back any, I'll get really upset.
I'm not concerned about Nova eating a little bit less, I'm happy .. she's 3 pounds overweight . she hasn't been refusing to eat.. just seems to be eating a little bit less at each meal.. and sometimes gets distracted in a good sleeping spot and skips the AM+9 snack.
Mostly food gets tossed because I leave extra out.. Nova's been having some low numbers lately, and Jerry (my HCM cat) is really hard to keep weight on.. so I'm happy to leave it out, and toss lots in the garbage.
+4=196 .. what the heck is that.. I'm pretty sure I got her insulin in her this morning.. maybe she went really low last night and this is a bounce? ugh I wish I had stayed up.. me being sick is not terribly good for either of us .
She seems tired.. I took her normally +3 1/4 can of FF up to her at +4 because she still hadn't showed up for it yet.. she ate it.. but I had to be a little bit encouraging. Not all that unusual when I wake her up with food.. I'll start freaking out soon if she doesn't come downstairs to say hi in the next hour or two.
Nova had a big long sleep.. then we had a "bath" (soaked her down with water and brushed her fur while telling her how beautiful and gorgeous she is.. she loves water, my little ducky).. she's feeling pretty decent I think.. still tired.. maybe she knows its Caturday.
Taking guesses on where Nova goes after the AM cycle today.. winner gets umm.. nothing! ..
Edit: Forgot my guess! I think she's about to do something CRAZY.. this just doesn't seem to have the Nova oomph to be a bounce.. pretty sure I got her insulin in, don't see any floaties..
Edit 2: If my first guess falls through.. my second guess is we're about to have a 4 figure vet bill for some mysterious illness .
Re: 3/20 - Nova - AMPS=148, +4=196, PMPS=160, +2=146, +3=97
My first guess was right.. yay.. here comes the crazy..
She's insanely hyper.. not surprising after a long day of sleeping.. I've spent the last 10 minutes chanting "Nova's got shoooogarz in her braaaaaaainz" at her as she rips around the house.. which of course gets her more hyper.. haha.
She's pretty freaking hungry.. giving her the normal +3 1/4 can FF snack.. but I think she may have bullied her brother off his 1/4 can too.. either way, pretty confident that if I need to go MC or HC later tonight she will inhale it.
