Good Morning LL! Long night last night. Tess had some nice numbers, but not too low, just dropped a lot from the morning numbers. Ann stayed up, so DH handled the shot this morning. Ann is taking her mom to a Dr. appt later this morning. Nice sunshine today.

WCR All 5 Ps this morning, but there seems to be a little blood in her urine. She used the LB several times while waiting for the shot and breffis. So it looks like a vet visit today. I would guess a UTI? She only ate about half of her first meal so far. I'll try to get her to try a bit more soon. She is looking out the window now, probably watching the birds wake up. More later. John

Oh poor Tess. Good luck at the Vetty visit and maybe it's a UTI. Sending vines to Tess for a good Vetty visit.

The vet got us in right away. Thank goodness they are only 5 minutes away. We didn't do a +3 test because we just got back from the vet.

They did blood and urine tests which will be sent out, but said the urine looked "pinkish" which is a sign of blood. Urine test eill be a C&S, but they sent us home w/ Clavamox to get started, if the test show need for a different AB they will change it. First time for the pills, :lol: Tess scarfed up the Pill Pocket pieces. Boy was that easy! We have buoe too, in pre dose syringes. Again much easier than trying to shoot just the right amount into her mouth from a big syringe. :roll:

Got to go DM has another appt. DH will get a +5 test to give her time to calm down and digest the meal she just ate.

Poor Girl has a UTI!! Sorry , so sending Healing prayers for Tess to get over this really soon & feel better!
Geez, when I saw that amps I said to myself. now that's not our Tess!!
At least you went right away & took care of her--What great Beans!!

We hope the antibiotics will quickly clear up the infection. Good thing that you were able to get Tess to the vet right away. Tess, you take your pills like a pro! Good girl!!

Hi everyone.

It looks like Tess will have some high numbers today. She seems more relaxed now than early this morning. I wanted to see the vet ASAP as we are almost to the weekend. So of course Tess picks today to have problems because we already had a full schedule. ohmygod_smile :lol: Ann is with her mom for an appointment.

I'm so sorry to hear Tess is having bladder issues today. It will be interesting to see what the c&s shows; I'm pretty sure Ann remembers that Gracie had chronic bladder issues...always with blood in her urine..but never any infection which indicated inflammation. Of course, with FD in the mix, the sugar can be an issue that causes bacteria. I hope she is resting more comfortably now. Poor Tess!!! How great that you could get her in so fast.

Ok Tess...now it's time to come down! You had some great numbers but don't need to overrespond!

Hope Ann's DM is well. I saw her post on our condo at 4:30 am :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Like minds :lol: :lol: :lol:

Tess is feeling much perkier and, whew, we are out of the reds. :-D She is sacked out on John's lap right now. Tess thanks everyone for the vines, she says they make a very soothing nest! :-D

Marje, Tess has has bladder problem other times w/out an infection too. Shortly after she came to us she did have struvite crystals, but that cleared up quickly. Her urine was neutral and SG normal then. The last time the ER gave abs before testing, so we don't know if that was an infection or not. Although she did greatly improve overnight after they were started. Were you given a cause for Gracie's inflamation?

The abs now are just a jump start in case there is an infection as we may not be able to get the test results until Monday, but hopefully they will come in tomorrow. If no infection we can stop giving the Clavamox or they may prescribe something different if there is an infection.

I hope Tess starts to feel better. I think Marje's Gracie has issues with sterile cystitis.

Sienne is correct. Gracie DID have chronic sterile interstitial cystitis. Every time she got stressed (e.g. me travelling for work, workers in or around the house, etc), she had episodes. We tried everything because it was getting pretty common with her. The NRT vet found she had high levels of aluminum in her system (probably from Mom being overvaccinated). When Gracie got stressed, her weakened system responded with the cystitis. As soon as she started the detox with special supplements, she did not have any more episodes. She is on a maintenance dose of the supplements and it's been about two years since she started them.

Hoping Tess feels better soon....it's so painful. If she continues to run to the box and strain, I would most definitely ask the vet for some bupe. It really helped Gracie.

Aww, Tess! UTIs are no good. Bless your little heart. Hope you get to feeling better soon and start getting those numbers back down. Keeping a healing thought for you.

YAY!!! You are such a smart bean!!! Most would not have thought to ask for it for cystitis and most vets don't think to offer it. \M/ :thumbup :thumbup

My mind is going blank, it doesn't say on the rx, should food with, before or after the abs? and does it matter w/ the bupe?

oh wow - be gone for a day and look at what I missed.... I hope she feels better Poor Tess! With the Clavamox - it needs to be given with food. What a relief that she likes the pill pockets - makes it so much easier. nice too on the bupe. We had those small size things too with BJ when she was sick - so so much easier to administer.

TESS!! The KTSS is on it's way!! My bestest ever pot of Chicken soup! We will fix you up, and get rid of the vetty smell. Leave the porch light on - we are on our way! ~~ Mannie oh - yes on the tuna pizza!

Yup....Michelle is right; you want to give food with the AB. It doesn't really matter on the bupe when you give it in relation to food.

KTSS!!! On the way!! We're bringing chicken soup but also PIZZA....just in case. And Tobey has his paws already for the ultimate massage for you, Tess!!

We love those pill pockets, that helped so much when we started using those. Thanks Julie and punkin! They do seem to give Zener a little spike though so we try to give them to Zener when he's dropping or +1 or +2. Hope Tess continues to improve. Poor baby.

Whew, thanks Michelle, I didn't goof this morning then! :-D She had missed breffis 2 while at the vet so I gave the abs and fed her, not even thinking about it. It just dawned on me as we were planning this evening's schedule.

Liz, what flavor were you using? We have the Duck and Pea.

Healing vines to sweet Tess! UTI is no fun. Tarragon had problems with recurring UTIs when he was first diagnosed. The Clavamox upsets his tummy. I hope Tess doesn't have any issues with it. Those numbers will come down as she gets to feeling better. Have a great night Ann!

We use the duck and pea pill pockets too. At first we gave him two or three at around +10. His numbers were higher. Duh. Now we cut them into little teeny tiny pieces and give them at +1 or +2, especially if he's dropping a bunch.
