Big change for Oscar: he usually posts morning numbers in the 400s (422 yesterday, 393 the day before, etc.).

In fact, it's his lowest number yet. Should I worry? What should I be watching for? His appetite is still pretty variable (not a big morning eater), and we had a kittysitter in last night who's very good, so I don't think he ended up with more than his .5 of lantus.

I'm still pretty new at this whole thing. Thanks in advance.

That is a beautiful way to wake up. :-D

Right now it looks like his shed just finished filling and he is starting to settle on that dose. He is still easily high enough to be safe to shoot, but since that is the lowest he has been you may want to get a few extra spot checks in if you can just to make sure he doesn't drop too low and for your own peace of mine. The only time we really worry is when they get below 50 for a newly dxed kitty.

If you haven't already I would also suggest printing out the signs of hypo and how to treat them and putting them somewhere like on the Fridge where they are easy to get to if you need them.

Welcome!

That is nice to wake up to! :thumbup

My Lucian has run so high, anything below 400 is cause for celebration around here!

You and he will both adjust as time goes by. :-D

Big hugz! :YMHUG:

That is a great number on .5u! Give him a few days to see if that is it- I think Lantus does 5 days, 10 cycles?

There was I time I used to DREAM for that number on a PS  Sneakers took nearly 9 months to regulate but she is also an Acro cat so 6 months of that time was on her final insulin and getting up so high to actually make a difference.

Turns out it didn't hold; he didn't eat enough to shoot on Saturday and then posted 501 out of nowhere tonight PMPS, even though today he was most like his old self -- purring, affectionate, hopping up on the TV and asking for treats. Hanging in there though.

How's Oscar today? I realized he's only been on insulin a couple weeks. That a tough time, trying to figure out what he's doing. Hang in there. :YMHUG:

After 2 months, I still don't know what Lucian's doing.
