Doing a curve today. My SIL bday is tonight. In a big family (four other siblings and their wives/husbands) there seems to be a couple events a month. I will be leaving at about +8. So if Patrick goes with me no curve, but I'll be back for his shot.

I can't tell how many furshots I'm giving him. I swear I smell lantus. I do a sniff test - sniff the other side of his fur and back to the shot spot.

I am thinking of replacing his lantus cartridge. Its two months old. Started on December 1st. There is only 1/4 left in it. See if that helps his numbers. Maybe he never had a reverse curve but was a consistent double dipper.

I'm giving the tips of his ears a break. Maybe I shouldn't be poking there but I think they are looking a little warped.

Check out his curve so far - is this a furshot or bad insulin? Or just Maverick? Not enough data to know I bet. Opening new cartridge tomorrow. I'm just so tired at night I really can't test. And I know he's not going hypo. I'll get up going forward to make sure he's monitored after tonight when I start the new cartridge of course.

He's hardly eaten anything since before AMPS.
And sorry I tried to fix my spreadsheet myself. The 100s are now green. But they should be blue. Haven't gotten around to fixing this yet.

I think it's a good idea to open new insulin, his numbers are higher overall. They're still nice numbers, but not for Maverick. If the new insulin doesn't make any difference, I would consider an increase. He has had some reverse curves, no question about that! The last curve before today's was a reverse curve, I believe. I hope Maverick makes up for the lack of appetite tonight. I think he likes to make you worry..not nice, Maverick, please eat!

I love the video from yesterday...I'm catching up....so funny to see the paw searching for the toy and the tail out the end! :lol: Have fun at the party, Karrie!

His numbers have been higher since with did that two or so day OTJ trial lol. I could have probably waited longer but I got spooked.

And another 99. Gotta love consistency today. I have to leave in ten minutes to go to the party. Not sure if I will ask DH to test or not. His ears just aren't bleeding and if he's not going to go low in the next three hours to shot time, I think I won't get a reading until 9PM shot time.
 
I hear you on the fur shot thing. I think I smell Lantus all the time with Simon's shots but maybe it is just the residue left on the syringe??? I can see why you are a little frustrated with Maverick's numbers since he usually is green most of the time, although they are still really good. Have fun at the party!
 
Well no dosing advice here, just stopping in to say hello.

The numbers are not too bad, but I know what you mean and can understand.

Back from the party. Left early to give Maverick his shot. He pulls a 77 - so somewhere between the +9 and PMPS he dropped below 100 and who knows why - meter variance most likely or new test strip container opened. New vial of lantus tomorrow morning.

Spending the rest of my evening catching up on condos.

New juice sounds like a good idea. Maverick is doing great. Remember that we're aiming for under 120 overall. We do like to see more green than blue but 120 is the top edge of "normal" so that's good too.

I hope you had a good time at the party - it sounds like fun, that you have a great family.

Numbers are great, but i can understand your concern, they are just a little higher than what Maverick usually does. It will be interesting to see if the new vial/pen brings things down.
