He didn't eat in the middle of the night, just when I went to bed at midnight. So I'm thinking this is why he tested low this morning. I wanted to increase his dose today to 0.9u because he has been on pink and reds with 0.75u.
I should be able to get some numbers today as well.

What do you think?

I took a look at his SS. I don't think I would increase his dose. You just did a increase 3 days ago is that correct? Then 3 days before that is that correct? Give him sometime to settle into a dose. 3 days is not enought time. Sams numbers aren't really moving when you are increasing. I see what would almost be a flat cycle on Sams SS on the 14th & 15th.
As I increased with Baxter the higher his numbers got & with flat cycles. We went 7 days flat....very frustrating. We switched to u-100 needles & started to decrease. If you want take a look at Baxters SS.

Forgot to add...please do not use Baxters dosing amounts for Sam. Baxter has a custom dosing scale based on his BG history. Therefor, it won't work for Sam.

Thank you for your suggestion. I looked at Baxter's SS and if I saw this correctly you tried a dose for around 4 days before switching, should I give him 1 more day of 0.75u?

I went back to look at Sam's ss again.

You have only shot into a yellow once before and it looks like the dose was too low. This is a nice AMPS, if you can eyeball a .5u or a .6u (whichever syringes you have) that might be just right.

Lets hope this is the start of some better cycles.

Thanks for the suggestion, I had given him 0.75u already :/ I'm still thinking it was because of food and that his bg will go back up pretty soon :/
Let's see if he can get away from pinks and reds. I'm also getting tired of these colors!!

ok let's see what he tests like but we ran into this before. I was giving him 0.75u and there was an inverse curve, and I changed his dose to 0.5u but it wasn't enough insulin, then went up to 0.6u, now to 0.75u. This is confusing. :-|

Just be careful reacting to inverse curves. One doesn't mean anything, especially if you've had a.recent increase. A consistent pattern of inverses indicates too much. This is where we ran into problems with Cass-he kept having inverses, so we reduced until we got to nothing. Finally had to ride the initially inverses out to see how a cycle.would run & we ended up increasing to where we are now.

I know it's confusing-but I had to throw this out there.

Thank you for your input :D
He will be due for his pm shot in 2 hrs so I will see what he tests like. I didn't test him at +6 yesterday but he hasn't been having inverse curves lately. His nadir is still quite late during the cycle but by the time he is due for his pm shot he is back up high again.
This is the 4th cycle he's been taking 0.75u. How much longer should I wait until I change doses with prozinc?

He just tested 318 for his pm shot. He hasn't had an inverse curve since the 2nd of March and he was flat on the 3rd.

Thank you. Sorry for not getting back, it's my spring break and I'm trying to be away from the computer as much as I can :D but I haven't neglected my little Sam.
will be back soon :D
