Hello from oldtimer Beethoven. He’s here to tell you he’s doing fine, but then he’s off to sunning himself on his deck in preparation for his mid-day nap. It has now been 17 months since he went OTJ. I checked his BG this morning and it was excellent—73. It was quite a challenge though. Mr. B wanted no part of this ear poking nonsense. He squirmed and pushed at me to let him run. For a cat who was so sweet and cooperative during our Lantus days, he seems to have forgotten how this is done, or maybe I have lost my touch. In any case, we eventually got it done.
I don’t get back to FDMB very often, and I see lots of new names here. But there are a few oldtimers who are familiar. Hey, how about that Mocha? This is so exciting to see her on an OTJ trial after all this time. Gooooooo Mocha! And Marco, what are you doing here? Back for a tune-up? And poor sweet Doodle. I’ll revisit your condo in a few minutes. Looks like Gabby’s still here but doing well, as are Raja and Shadow.
The status update for our household is that DH and I have both retired (me just a couple weeks ago), and we’re all—the three of us—moving to Eugene, Oregon. We have a house there and have been going back and forth quite a bit. Beethoven always goes with us. It’s about a 5 hour drive from Puyallup. He travels very well and has given his stamp of approval on the new digs. He quickly found all the window perches and checks them regularly. We don’t have a definite moving date, but with two houses and two mortgages there’s some incentive to make something happen relatively soon.
OK, I’m off to visit some condos now.
