Late post today. Very busy cooking lamb roasts and ground lamb for Ivy’s meal prep. Takes me several hours. A long day.

She was happy to sniff the fresh air at an open screen door today.

We hope everyone had a calm day and has a safe surf tonight :cat:

    Thanks, Elise :bighug:
She’s doing well. It was a horrible experience going through pancreatitis. She seemed to have lingering effects of loose poops for a while.
I’m very worried she will have another bout and how will I handle that? (What would I do if she begins symptoms again).
Do you need a blood test to confirm or do you just treat symptoms immediately!?

I appreciate your checking on us and your help :bighug::bighug:

Once diagnosed I treated symptoms at the first sign of symptoms but if Max was really tanking badly my vet would run the blood test to confirm it wasn’t something different. There’s a new rapid test that supposedly is as reliable as tge one that gets sent to tge lab but your vet needs the machine for it. Marje added it to the pancreatitis handbook.

Interesting. I’ll have to ask about this test.
How did you treat if you saw symptoms?
And did you have buprenorphine on hand at home, or did the vet need to see Max to prescribe it for him?
I’m so worried now after this experience.

Hi Diane, thank you. She’s such a cutie.
I’m glad you liked my poop report
I’m pretty tired now after 4 hours on my feet. Too old for this ;)

We hope you’re feeling well and enjoyed the sun today :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Max became inappetent every time his pancreas acted up. So I’d give him ondansetron. I know Ivy does better with cerenia. My vet would give me whatever I needed to manage him without a visit as he knew I would ask to come in if needed. I HATE pancreatitis because they don’t know why cats get it and there isn’t a cure. All you can do is treat the symptoms.:bighug:

You're such a good cat-mom Staci. Ivy lives like a queen, and always looks to content, like the pic above :)
