Sorry so late today guys but didnt have internet this morning for some reason and then took Doogle to the vet and after we got home I had a splitting headache so laid down for a bit. Doogle did great though at the vet. Although he was scared to death it didnt really affect his BG. He was 155 before we left and I checked him after we got back in and he was only 116. He does not have conjunctivitis but we did get a non steroidal eye drop antibiotic just in case it was some kind of infection. He also got checked for glaucoma and cataracts, all clear. :smile: Got out ears cleaned while we were there (so we didnt have to do it after we got home) and he has ear mites. He gets these alot for some reason. So got some Revolution to take care of that because the vet didnt want to give us anything with steroids in it. The vet was so surprised when I told him about him dropping to 31 and he was like, "was he walking?" and I said oh yes!! Doogle isnt phased by those low numbers. He was running around and playing like a kitten. He was so thrilled! I love my vet! He trusts me every step of the way and if I have problems he knows I will come to him but otherwise he lets us do what we need to. I have even taught him some tricks. He is an older vet but is still one that loves the animals more than anything. He still cries when having to put an animal down. I guess he is so great because we have known him for 20 years and the DH worked at a vet tech for him for 3 years. So after exam, medicine and new ear q-tips to clean with, I got out of there under $100. We are using gentamicin ophthalmic drops, 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day.

So Doogle is not feeling himself still but looks like he may be clearing his bounce. Hopefully he will start feeling more dooglely tomorrow. :-D

I'm so glad the vet visit went well, and that you have a vet you love. That's so important! Sorry about the internet and the headache. I'm not sure which one is worse.....but I hope you have no more problems with either of them now.

One of my indoor civies got ear mites last summer - but only in 1 ear. The other ear was completely clean. :? The vet said it made no sense. Revolution took care of it, thank goodness. Ugghhh on ear mites!

Hope Doogle starts feeling dooglely soon!

Thanks for stopping by Shelly! Doogle for some reason always gets these. I dont know if lighter colored kitties are just more prone or what but also having as many as I do I am sure its bound to happen. I usually keep up with the Revolution throughout the year with Doogle especially but havent done it since I lost my job back in June. Luckily he is pretty good about letting us clean his ears. Just want to get this eye problem cleared up. Poor kitty looks like he is playing pirate...LOL.

You can tell Doogle doesnt feel good. :sad: I feel for my poor baby. Gotta a question, since Doogle is a DKA survivor (8 months ago), should we go ahead and go back up to 2.5u or stick with the 2.25u for a couple more cycles?

It looks to me like Doogle has been trying to clear a bounce. I might give this another cycle or two to see where he's going with this dose.

I was already thinking that but just wanted some opinions since he was not feeling well and had a history of DKA. :-D

I think it's a bounce off that 31 still, too.

Glad you got good news on the eye and got some nonsteroidal drops. Hope he feels better really soon. And numbers come down. :-D

Do you know why he doesn't feel well? Do you think it's his numbers, his eye? Something else?

I am only gathering it has to be his eye and the ear mites. He is ok with everything else as far as I know. He is eating ok and going to the bathroom (no ketones). Maybe he is trying to come down with something, I have no idea. I do have azithromycin I can give him if its like an URI (but he has had no symptoms). I about to go do his drops and check him now.

When Gracies meibomanitis is acting up in her eyelids, her numbers go up and she's a little quieter then usual.

I hope it's just the eye.

I hope so too. Just gave him his drops (he is so good about it), we tested and played for a few minutes (he was jumping around everywhere trying to get his feather wand), then we ate our 1/2 can of FF. Hopefully we will feel better tomorrow. Thank you Marje as always, you are fantastic!!!!! :YMHUG:
