So this morning I did his regular AMPS reading and it seemed like not a lot of blood registered but the meter still beeped. It clocked in at 119. I wanted to reassure myself so I did a second reading on his other paw which came in at 344! I am worried that all my results thus far have been inaccurate. Oh no! What am I to think about this? :(

When that happens to me I test a third time to see which was a true reading. Usually the third test will be close to one or the other reading.

Darn! I just fed him and gave him his shot. I have a cat sitter tonight, and tomorrow morning who I have trained to do readings. I will do a good testing Thursday night. Thanks for your quick response. I would have been freaking out all day.

I just took another reading which came in at 510! This was minutes after his shot and food. I am guessing the higher number was right. I hope those blue and green numbers are accurate, which I am guessing they are probably low due to possibly a low volume blood sample? Oh man, I am disappointed.

Or he's just bouncey today. I also use the micro and its usually spot on even on a tiny sample. Occasionally they will spike for reasons we'll never know. Maybe he went low overnight. Maybe he's up simply because he can.

Are you keeping the vial of test strips snapped shut except when you are withdrawing one? An open vial can lead to ruined test strips and incorrect readings.
