Hoping he keeps it down today and no 'meter greetings' tonight. @-)

I'm not going anywhere today, gonna do some house cleaning, have another inspection this week and need to do floors again. My house smells like cat food and that nasty a$$ perfumey litter smell, that I hate. I have an unopened box of litter that is unscented, so it's time to scrub the LB and refill with 100% fresh, in a couple days. I can only afford it when it's on sale at Petsmart. The rest of the time, I get litter at Walmart, where it's only $8 for a 28lb box. But I hate the scent! :-x

Don't know if you have an ALDI store near you, but they have 14# for 3.99 that I have bought when very broke and it is worse, smell wise, than anything I have ever used. Can't get the smell out of my apt for days after I quit using it, it permeates the whole place! I love my Aldi for the prices, but that stuff is awful! @-)
nckitties3 said:No PW near me, but I'm familiar with them. Shopped there for years when I lived in the boonies. I loved it. Like an old time store, with a real meat cutter that would do things for you without charging. Like cutting a steak or pork chops a certain thickness, etc. They have real butchers instead of meat stockers.
We do have Harris Teeter, which is the absolute best place for items you can't find anywhere else. But their prices are sky high. But if you need a specialty spice or ingredient not carried in most stores, they'll have it, but it'll cost ya!![]()
I shop at Aldi for most of my stuff, saving 50-75% and some Walmart for cat food and litter and pharmacy. I really dislike going into Walmart, but have to for a couple things.
Back when I stayed with my son and DIL, I shopped everywhere, made my lists according to the sale ads and hit all the local stores, since they are all within a 5 mile radius. Since it's just me, that isn't necessary, Aldi is always cheaper and we finally got an Aldi here about a 2 years ago. With the exception of cat/dog food and litter, everything else I've tried is equal or better quality than name/store brands. They are a rapidly growing store, just don't know how far they are outside of the southeast though.
MommaOfMuse said:We just affectionately call our WalMart the Out Store because it is always out of about 2/3s of whatever I go in there for. I finally sent them a nasty email about how if they couldn't keep the pet department stocked I was going to have to take my business elsewhere and that I spend over $100.00 per week on pet supplies alone. Didn't take the local manager long to call me asking how they could help me get what I needed to keep shopping with them..But apparently I still have to do the leg work for them, since I if I can produce the UPC codes for the flavors of Friskies Classic Pate that I want then they will SEE if they can order them in just for me..I'll believe that when I see it, because the last time I asked if I could pre-purchase a particular flavor of canned dog food, and have them call me when it comes in so I could pick it up, they told me "No, that would throw our inventory and ordering off" WTF?
I so miss Aldi's use to shop there all the time, and actually the stuff is name brand, just not name brand in the US, but they import it from other places, and the fresh produce is locally grown...love that store. We have a choice of 4 places here, and since the entire town is a 10 mile radius its all close, but our choices are Sunmart, great if you speak Spanish, Allens if you want to pay 4 times too much but you can find just about anything there but you will pay for it (i.e. Friskies @ walmart 46cents/can..Allens.. Friskies 65 cents/can) but they carry every flavor that Friskies makes, then there is Russ's which is basically a Safeway, but it is always so crowded you can't breathe in there and the parking lot is teeny tiny. And lastly Walmart. Not a lot of choices here.
I remember well the Piggly Wigglys and not being able to keep a straight face anymore than I can keep a straight face at the convience stores we have which are called Cum 'N' Go.

The funniest, strangest thing I ever saw, was a drive thru beer and fireworks store in Copperhill TN, called the Runway. Just what we need, drunks with explosives!

MommaOfMuse said:You know I think I can answer part of it...not all but part. Since he doesn't eat every 3 hours over night he starts out lower, but during the day he is having lots of mini meals. While he might not like it much you could try this...Feed Breakfast at amps, then nothing between that and lunch at +6, then again nothing until pmps and see if that evens out his amps and his pmps. Then leave him something to nibble on overnight. Unless of course you find that he is dropping too low and then of course you will want to prop him up some. That is the way everyone here eats, the first few weeks they all thought they were going to starve to death but they eventually got use to the new dining schedule.

And there is always food out all night. I feed him at his last test (PM+3-+4) and I'm sure he eats at least once after that, so his schedule isn't changing during the night.
The Friskees FD he ate for the first time today? He's making spin art tonight, no more of that.
If he doesn't come down some tomorrow, I may have to try fattening the dose or something.
