Good morning,
Woke up to 76 on Libre at 5:30 am.
Low numbers yesterday am cycle. Blue AMPS start to today. Ivy decided to take her dinner last night in my bedroom. Just went up there mid feeding and waited for me to bring it to her. She spent much of the night there till bedtime then went to her room and went to sleep. Silly girl. :joyful:

Her mood seems better today (anti jinx). Hoping for no issues if I need to try to test her today (yesterday was not happening, too angry).

When I test I will try to use the Relion meter I have just to see what the numbers I get are compared to my Contour Next range just for kicks. ;)
(Relion takes more blood so we will see if I can work with that at all).

Also, I added her Shen Calmer back into her diet since she’s been an upset past few days (maybe she does need that. Also started giving her a few drops of Bachs Rescue Remedy 2x a day to see if that may help her mood).
Have a good week everyone :cat:

Forgot to mention, tomorrow morning we see the vet for check up and labwork. Will need to heavily sedate her tonight and tomorrow early am with gabapentin and trazodone so they can handle my little dragon :(

Also… fur puke this morning.

Good morning Staci!
Ivy's doing soooo well! It's so good to see nice streaks of greens and blues.
Keep going, sweet girl!
Well done using the Relion meter. How do you like it?
Good to know that Ivy is in the safe range :)
Wish the numbers were a little closer though. It must be hard to have to get two numbers.

Hope your day goes well today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good morning Staci! Ivy sounds like a real princess. she must have been a high-ranking royalty cat in another life ;)
I hope you have a good day! Bravo for using the Relion. It is so weird that the numbers are so far apart, though.

Morning Staci, she's sure is doing great, looks like an active cycle for sure.
Slow it down some pretty girl :cat:
Good luck with the vet visit and I hope her labs come back great!
Poor baby has to be that heavily sedated :(
I hope it wears off her pretty quickly by night time
Give her kisses for me :bighug::bighug::bighug: :cat:

Hi Kit, just remember the greens you see on her SS are Libre numbers, so they are higher. Not as actually exciting as Mikan’s true handheld numbers. But, still much improved.
It is tricky to have to decipher what we are seeing for Ivy.
I actually like my Contour better, it’s smaller and less bulky. And uses less blood, that’s key.
But it was such a good check to learn that it seems accurate. I’ll use it for a few days just to see what I learn. Can’t hurt.
I’m definitely better at using the Relion than I was a year ago. I couldn’t get a reading at all on it. (I was so new and bad at blood testing).
Sadly we are all better at it now.
How do you like your meter?

I hope you’ve all had a nice day and have a quiet evening. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile, I think you are right. She’s a total diva. It’s good she gives good cuddles (on her terms of course).
Hope you have a nice night :cat::bighug:

Hi Diane, well she lost action early. Kind of odd.
I know, it’s a bummer she just can’t be a calm kitty at the vet. She makes it worse for herself and it takes an entire day to get the meds out of her system :(

I’ll give kisses for you. Same to you and Tyler!:kiss:

Eric was prepping the syringe tonight, and he was struggling so much to line it up correctly, so I told him he should use an extra syringe and practice with water. But watching him makes me remember how hard it was when I first started, and makes me appreciate how fast I've gotten at the whole thing. And I know you've gotten so much better (which, yes, is a double edged sword because YAY better, but boo why you need to be). All that to say, well done you! ❤️

Thank you for that, Alicia. You’re so right.
It must be so hard to have so much patience with Eric while he’s trying so hard to do this really hard and scary thing we have learned to do with general swiftness out of necessity. Kudos for Eric for really trying to step up. So proud of you for making him feel comfortable to be able to do all of this for Kit
