fabulous! i'm off to work but wanted to check in and see how your night went.
saw your discussion about what to dose today - i think i wouldn't see-saw between a fat 1.75 like you gave last night and the 2.0 you gave yesterday morning. i'd stick with the f1.75 and try to go 6 cycles with it. even if he bounces.

Thank you Julie for checking in. I just was about to post his new number and was pondering what to do. I will give the f1.75. I so appreciate you checking in on me this morning and staying up with us last night. I turned the lights out at 3:30 and was awakened at 6 with Max stuck to his cat tree. Then about a half hour later there was a earthquake at first said to have a center right where I live but later moved to about 10 miles away. It was a 4.4 and short but two strong jolts. Have a great day at work.

Hi there, I don't think we've visited Max's condo before. Sunny yellows are not bad to see after a wild night. And an earthquake too? Holy moly.

Yes it was nice to see mellow yellow. I am hoping we go down gradually and it isn't the beginning of a bounce. Thanks fir the well wishes. Thankfully no damage here and it sounds like all is well in the test of the city. Just a lot of unsettled nerves. I didn't get too scared of earthquakes until the one in '97 which did cause power outages, deaths, and a lot of broken dishes, televisions, lamps, broken shower tiles, cracks in paint etc. that time I had no idea how bad it was as I never had damage before. It was pitch dark and I walked into the kitchen and stepped lightly on glass. I didn't get hurt but now keep shoes under my bed. Have a great day and thanks for the visit.

what state do you live in? my husband's cousin posted on facebook last night about them having a quake in caifornia. then he posted a link to a fairly alarming article (given that i live in oregon) about how we're due for a big quake soon off the coast of the Pac NW.
how is your mom today?

Hi Julie. I'm in So. Cal. and probably 5 miles from the center of the earthquake. There wasn't any damage reported that I know of but it did rattle the nerves. It hit around 6 or 6:30 this morning.
No answers on my mom. They drew blood and took chest x-rays. I think she is dehydrated. She probably needs fluids and if her internist can't do it in his office tomorrow the hospital is looking more likely. I'm so scared for her to go in as they nearly did her in the last two times but we may be out of choices as she isn't getting better at home. This doctor we saw today is not the one for us. We waited nearly an hour for her and she spent the majority of the time getting her history and barely examined her.
So do I test Mr. Max now or give him a break? It's +9.45 and I'm on the fence. I'm just thinking out loud. I might just wait.

he's bouncing a little bit today from those good numbers yesterday. i suspect you could get a pmps and a before-bed, and if everything stays in the vicinity of 200, sleep well.
dehydration is a huge problem in elderly people. i haven't heard of fluids being done in a doctor's office, but perhaps some do. i had to take my mom to the ER in the middle of the night one night and that was the issue. i hope tomorrow is better than you expect. :YMHUG:

it is a good pmps! not too high, but not so low that you'll probably have to stay up. we like flat numbers!!!

Great job last night, Elise. I know it was scary but you did great.
Max was safe with the numbers he was at and it takes a while to get used to lower numbers without being nailbite_smile nailbite_smile we have all been there. The good thing is that he didn't get very low but you were able to practice feeding him to manage the curve with a bit of food.
Nice recovery for him today, too!
Many prayers for your mom. I have a lot of problems with my mom staying chronically dehydrated and then her BP drops too low. She has gone I to the hospital a couple times for fluids but the las time, they had a home health nurse come to her and aid inter IV fluids.

I hope to test at +3 only tonight but if he is dropping I will likely do a +5. Can you believe this coming from someone whose first post said something like don't beat me up for this but how do you manage this without home testing? I couldn't have done it without my patient vet and you!!!

My mom has a-fibrillation, CHF, high BP u less she's dehydrated, and is on Coumadin. But it does depend on what is going on with your moms heart.

Hard to say on whether he will go lower but I'd sleep/test until you know he has stopped or is coming up.

You were right, Marje as we are now in the green at +5. At least I am dosing in between tests. I better set an alarm for the next one as I haven't slept much lately.
