Yes, I would definitely wait no more than an hour to see if he's slowed down. Nice to see green, he must be feeling better.

One more thing, the general guideline is that when you first see green in a cycle, give a tsp or two of low carb food, that can help them surf or hang out in that range.
If I'm using an Alphatrak2, around which numbers would I begin to give medium and/or high carb? Or how would I know that it's time to use them? I read the post about not panicking with low numbers and it says below 50. But is that on a human monitor?

We don't have a conversion from AT to human meter or the other way around. For low numbers, we use 68 on the AT as similar to 50 on the human meter. That's the point high carb food can be used. Our Sticky Notes do mention our preference for human meters because we can't to a conversion.

Today's use of MC can be considered a valuable experiment. Since you say he nadirs earlier, you have learned that after nadir you can usually go with lower carb food in order to bump his numbers up.

This depends somewhat on the cat. Some cats are more carb sensitive than others. Your job is to figure out what sort of carbs Taz needs, and when. Some people use MC to slow fast drops earlier in the cycle. For others, just using LC will work. Best to keep good notes on the spreadsheet of whether you are using LC, MC, or HC and when and how much. I used to put that in the Remarks column so I could see what impact carbs were having on Neko's cycle. Typically after nadir, when the insulin effect is fading, you don't need as many carbs to bring them up as you do earlier in the cycle.
