We're feeling much better this morning - no more fainting - and Sunny's acting like his happy self today. :cat:

Sunny had his vet visit on Friday and Dr. Shari didn't see any sign of infection. His teeth were good, and urine test was good (no crystals or infection). We just got our bloodwork back last night and it looks good as well. I updated our labs tab in the spreadsheet -- but I don't have the UA results in hand - yet. Here's the note Dr. Shari included with the results:
===================================
Sunny's bloodwork overall looks good.

His sodium being elevated can occur after any vomit or diarrhea and can be seen with diabetes due to osmotic diuresis (glucose in urine draws more water into urine). Even through his urine was negative for glucose, there probably has been some glucose in the urine transiently with the periodic high blood glucose. The Fructosamine is under 300 which is "normal" but currently its 296 and last year was 230, again supporting transient hyperglycemia. Glucose fits with what you've been seeing, 88 mid-day.

His T4 (thyroid level) is still normal but ticking up a little. So lets keep checking his bloodwork annually, especially to screen for hyperthyroidism. If you see weight loss or elevated hunger in the next year we can check it sooner.

Kidney function looks improved from the past, again with just barely adequate urine concentration, so his kidneys are "normal" but toeing the line of early dysfunction if his urine becomes more dilute in the future.
====================================

I'm pretty excited about his kidney improvement! Just FYI- we have been giving him a supplement by Standard Process called Feline Renal Support (he eats it like a treat daily). I don't know if we can attribute his improvement to this supplement - but possibly. It might be worth trying, if you have a CKD cat too!

I'm going to wait until Dr. Shari is back from vacation next week to ask her about Sunny's fainting episode yesterday. He's been fine since that happened and for now I'm going to chalk it up to a vagal response from throwing up a large hairball. God willing, it won't happen ever again.

The dog we were watching went home last night so now Sunny's stressor is gone, and hopefully we will see his numbers come down now. The dog is a nice Golden Retriever, who would never harm the cats, but they do not appreciate his wigglyness and enthusiasm. They're only used to our old chiweenie Frida, who ignores them completely, and would never consider wiggling, or enthusiasm.

So now -- we monitor Sunny's morning BGs and hope and pray they come down nicely this week.

Thanks for all your support sweet ladies and gents :cat:
