I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. It was a great day for me yesterday. I managed to dodge the latest rain storm coming through here, well sorta dodge it, and make it out and about for a while. It was a nice hike to Meadowdale, a bit wet, but nice. I spent the rest of the day working on financials and budget projections for me for the upcoming ear. Not too terribly exciting, but at least it is done, and I sorta know where I stand. Here's what I wrote about the day in last night's post: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Here we are again, the end of yet another weekend. I want mine back. ;-) It has not stopped raining here since this morning, non-stop slop, and now we have fog too. I finally just grabbed the rain gear and headed on out anyways to Meadowdale, got wet, but it's OK. It was good to be out for a bit, re-energized so to speak. The trails were a mess, duh, and no surprise with all this rainfall. I did find a small patch of trillium that has started to grow. That was kinda cool, a true woods plant of spring. It was really wet, but at the same time kinda pretty out there. I had a good time, despite the rains. I had hoped to be able to fo to Yakima tomorrow, for a canyon hike, as their weather is all sun and 65. The snows however have returned on Snoqualmie Pass, with a prediction for heavy snowfall tonight, up to 10". I have to cross over the pass to get to Eastern Washington, so.... with temps in the 20's, and the snows falling I can only imagine to conditions of the roads in the morning. I will wait and see, but expect to have to go somewhere else. I am kinda bummed, but ok too - there is a reason I did not make it over there until April last year. "

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola... Lola will always be Lola. With the weather being so stormy and wet in the morning the kitties were in bed mode most of the day yesterday. SMART! Elsa had to go out for a bit, she insisted. It was so reminiscent of the last time she went out in the rain. It wasn't two minutes later when I turned around and saw her at the door, paws and front legs stretched up as high as she could reach on the glass of the slider door, with these loud meows. Translation? " LET ME IN! NOW!!!!" So I did, and dried her off. Silly cat.  Then she went out again, twice! And again in the evening. It is the same every time she goes out when it is raining. It was cleaning day yesterday in the afternoon. and (!!) I had no helpers! Not even Lola who loves to help. She was too busy sleeping thought the rain storm. Maybe that was a good thing.   Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. One of those days when I shall see what comes to be. If the weather clears some I may go do some local hiking. I had so wanted to go to Yakima, making it over the mountain passes to do some hiking in warmer Eastern Washington. Darn snow! .... well we will check once again to see road conditions before deciding where, and if, I go.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

It's not supposed to rain on St. Patricks Day!!
Hi Michelle. Sorry about all your rain. And we have bone-chilling cold! Whatever. How wonderful that you saw the Trillium yesterday. I love them. I hope you get out today.

Elsa, thank you for the ~O) . Nice and hot, too. Boy did we ever need it this morning! Rusty says that he'll be over later to spend some time in the tree house. How's the tree house roof holding up in the rain? He's still talking about the party.

Have a good day, Michelle. Hopefully the paperwork is over!!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

Wow on the rains and snow. I don't blame you for putting off the drive with the pass so bad. No one helped with the cleaning? How did you get it done? Have a great day Michelle!

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

I'm glad you got to go out yesterday, even if it was wet. I hope the weather was better today. Wow on no helpers while you were cleaning. I guess the rain made the kitties really sleepy.

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

Hi Michelle,
Hope you had better weather today, and was able to get out somewhere. Wow on the snow and the pass possibly being closed  Seems so close to spring for that!
So, were you lonely as you cleaned?
Happy St. Patty's Day!

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been great. Happy St Patrick's Day! Here's to corned beef and cabbage and green beer. And a green Chicago River. we did well here today. It has been for all intent and purposes a sunny say. Go figure, as they said rain rain and more rain when I went to bed last night. I was glad to see the sun. It snowed alot this morning in the mountains, roads were a mess, usual restrictions, but by 11/12 is was drivable. That was just too late for me to head on over to Yakima. oh well no matter. I will go sometime soon. I decided about 8 this morning to go and do something that I have wanted to do for a while, since the weather on most of the trails here was questionable. So... went and visited all the Lynnwood parks that I have not seen before. I think I did maybe 6 or 7 of them just to see what they were like, what they offered, and what Nicholas would think. Each one was a little different, each one had something he would like. Two even had spray parks, which would really be nice for the summer. The one a few blocks from here even has a cable line! it kinda works like a zip line. Now that is cool. So all in all, a successful endeavor this morning, plus it was fun. I made it home about 1 or so, still under somewhat blue skies. Since March is March here and the rains could hit any day I thought what the heck. It is still sunny so off I went again, this time just to my usual local hike in the woods and the shore here. That was nice too. It was still cool at 45, but we had sun for the most part. I enjoyed that hike alot.Tide was out too so I was able to make a dilapidated pier further on down the shoreline. I just love that thing. it used to be a fishing stopover for the local fisherman back in the 50's, and has quite the history associated with it. What a nice day. All totaled I think I put about 11 miles on the legs today. YaHOO on that. That felt good. :-D :-D :-D I will post the Picassa link to all the photos in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Ella - I KNOW! and - in the long run: no rains! :-D I read about your COLD> That is way to BBBRRRRRR for me. I hope you guys can stay warm. oh yes on eh trillium. I LOVE that plant, one of my favs.In one of the parks today I saw some more, so we seem to be entering Spring Mode. :-D THX on today and I did. Once I realized we really weren't going to get too wet I headed on out.
Auntie Ella - you are welcome. I will bring lots today, and some cocoa. it is way too cold there not to have cocoa. Tell Rusty the sun is now out and I am getting the zip lines ready. :-D ~~ Elsa, KBP

Hi Melissa - I agree.... it snowed something fierce in the mountains today. Still is on and off. So... no mtn travel for me today. It all cleared way too late for me to go. Yes on the cleaning... NO HELP! I struggled so with completing everything....

Hi Carla - Me too on yesterday. It as really wet, but I still enjoyed it. It actually did improve today - so off I went again. I think you are right: too rainy = sleepy kitties = no help with the cleaning.

Hi Jane - We did fare much better today. The sun was here for some of the day, that was so nice. It was CRAZY n the pass this morning. Alot of snow... which did clear late in the morning, but too late for me to go. oh well, we will go later in the spring, in a month or so. Sooner if I can. ioh yes... so so LONELY while I cleaned! It was awful!

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

Happy St Paddy's Day, Michelle!! Elsa's Shamrock Frappes were amazing....maybe they should be a regular menu item ;-) !!

What a silly girl she is, going out in the rain...3 times! I guess she was trying to be hopeful that it had stopped. It must have been really dreary for Lola to sleep through cleaning day! Wow on all that snow....I just can't even stand the thought of it.......

Have a great evening, Michelle!

Re: 3/17 LOOSE LIPS: rain and more rain... HAPPY ST PAT'S DA

Hi Amy - I so have to agree on those shamrock frappes.  Elsa has always been funny like that - it can be pouring out, yet she has to go out, and right back in she comes, only to ask again 5 minutes later. I guess she thinks the weather will have improved! Silly girl... i so agree on that stupid snow! enough already, but I really can't complain, as we in the lowlands have had none. ;-) THX on tonight - time to relax some.
