Top o'the morning to y'all. We/re starting out where we left off last night not just in numbers, but in her highness licking me awake in the middle of the night......I had to hide under the sheet and then found myself in some sort of dream about being buried alive when the alarm went off. Not quite sure how I'm going to break her of this (maybe cover myself in night cream so I'm not so delicious?).

I have a strong feeling she needs to go up in dose just a smidge - probably because there's more to her now. I think she's on the high end of the range she should be in so there's going to be some ration watching in the future along with some better scheduled exercise time - they were fighting over the snake teaser so I bought a second one. Remember those Olympic rythymic gymnasts with the ribbon sticks - lets just say that's NOT what I look like waving the things around with a cat on each end

But I can't do a proper watch/curve till the weekend so for now I'll just focus on consistency in food quantity and time. Today I dished out breakfast with a wee bit of corned beef on top in hopes of encouraging green.....

+3 107 - apparently my girl wants to celebrate the holiday.....I might have guessed she had a bit of Irish in her the way she gobbled up that corned beef :).

+4 67 - Her highness is throwing a wrench in my plans to head out to my dads this morning - looks like it will be an afternoon visit once i'm sure she's done diving. Mel called it for sure - one active cycle coming up :)

See this is why I don't think you need to adjust the dose at all where you have to be away at work during the day. In fact I would try to catch a +6 just to make sure she doesn't drop lower and earn herself a further reduction.

Mel - as always you are right....that said - I'm not going anywhere for a bit - she's earning a reduction as we speak - +5 is 52. On a workday lunch would be available cause I leave it out frozen and it thaws by about now....but since i'm home I put out a couple tablespoons of FF (have to give it to both cause its just like that around here)....and she's munching contentedly.

I'll check in half an hour unless she comes over looking odd earlier - I really think this is about as far as she's going to limbo but I'm prepared for whatever happens.

You're very right - this is where data and a bit of past experience comes into play - I'm pretty mellow because I've been here before.

From my experience with Lucian, I'd only give 1 tsp instead of Tablespoons, she needs to have room for more if needed in 30 min. 2 Tbsp may fill her up and she still has a couple hrs to drop :-D

You don't want her to be too full, just in case. ;-)

Chime in Mel if you think differently.

Good job Jez and Em! :thumbup

Its two tablespoons between two cats - I can't do one without the other....so its not as much as it sounds like...didn't thin it down with any water....and it got instantly scarfed. Under normal circumstances they'd have about 2 1/2 - 3 ounces of food thawed about now available.....and they'd likely graze on it for most of the afternoon.

But I guess being home they figure if they chow down really fast, I"ll forget they got any food and give them more. Trust me - If Jez won't eat - its time to head to the vets.

Just about time to grab Her Majesty for another test - I decided to hold off a bit to minimize the food spike if any.....

+6 75 which is just about exactly what happened last time I tracked a low +4 a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to put out a proper afternoon luncheon for the little darlings, make sure she does some eating (which I have no doubt they will both do)....and get my dad's stuff done. Seems like once he gets himself fixated on something - he obsesses until its done....and this weekend I'm tasked with running cable under the floor so that he can get FIOS on his bedroom TV as well as his living room TV.

Mind you, he hasn't had TV in his bedroom for almost a year now, but now he has to have it right this moment ;). But bless him - at almost 83 and still managing to live alone I think he's earned the right to be a bit difficult at times.
Thanks Deb and Mel for checking in.........I'll come back this afternoon and find out what to do tonight.

Excellent! :-D I forget you have 2 furbabies, so that works out. :thumbup

I can relate with the Dad, my mom, 75, is the same way, everything is an emergency and gotta be done NOW.

And any little thing that doesn't go right, is a major catastrophe. But that's not age, she's always been a Drama Queen.

Looks like Lucian came to play in the grass with Jez. ;-)

Well, he'll have to go on just a bit longer as he is....I drilled through the floor OK - but then its apparently another few inches to the drywall ceiling (basement) and I didn't have a bit long enough to reach.....so I told him I'd finish up next weekend.

All is right in "relaxed" lantus land - I came back to a +8 (actually close to +8.5) 107.......I'd like to see her cruise around there for a while longer....even if it means the "shoot or not to shoot" thing this evening.

I'm thrilled that Lucian is having such a great run.....
